We have a 3 year old hen. Hatched her.... She's the most affectionate friend we have. She demands that you cuddle her. Makes all the chipping sounds your turkey does. Sits with me in my lawn chair. Takes a nap there. We love her.

I love this. I have 35 wild turkeys that come to my house every single day for bird seed and just to say hello. I never hear them gobble. They only make these very sweet little sounds like your birds are doing. I think they only gobble when they're distressed? This is why I don't eat animals. All animals feel love and terror and pain and love their babies just like we do. Thank you for this beautiful video of these beautiful birds.
I had a Tom that was hilarious. He hated my Aunt for absolutely no reason, but he was an absolute angel besides that. He lived a long happy life and was a behemoth. He passed away from natural causes. He was blind, and very old. Turkeys are Very cool birds when raised with love.
It's impossible to explain just how much birds enrich our lives to a person who's never experienced what it really is to know and to love and be loved by a bird. It's like Mr. Rogers said, "I could never eat something that had a mother."

We have wild turkeys in our yard...I love watching them out the window. Sometimes they just lay down and rest peacefully. Nobody bothers them here and we buy corn for them to eat.

I grew up ignorant, not knowing that animals are actually loving and sentient beings that want and deserve to live. That's why I am a vegetarian and striving to be vegan. There are so many meat alternatives today that are less detrimental to the environment, and using alternatives saves precious life.
Usually the message is all or nothing: become vegan or not. An alternative is cut back on animal based foods. It would have a huge impact on demand and a healthier diet as well. I am vegan very easy to make the change and my blood work numbers moved in the right direction.

Because each time you give your money to buy a dead animal, you're increasing the demand for them to be bred and killed so you can satisfy your love of tasting their flesh. As fewer people consume animal products, so do the farmers breed them less and less because the numbers of animal products sold are lower, therefore the markets are not willing to stock up on more animal products than what they actually manage to sell. The world will not become vegan overnight, nothing ever did change overnight on a scale such as this. But by the time that has happened, farmers would've long stopped breeding them and the animals that remained would've gone to sanctuary farms or killed. (Most probably rescued, as it has happened already with farmers that have become vegan and they offered their animals to sanctuary farms.) As far as taste goes, have you actually tried going vegan for a month at least? So that you get to try and experiment with fantastic vegan alternatives? I used to love meat. But since researching about what goes on behind closed doors in the animal agriculture, and I mean REALLY researching and taking all the visual/written information in; I decided to go vegan and I swear I have never... *never* felt like I miss meat or any animal product. You like meat because you've been given it since you were little, by your family. Your brain has linked meat with memories, childhood, family and positive elements. It's only natural that you find it hard to let that go. It's not just about taste. And you might realize that or not. But just in the same way you got attached to it, that's how you'll get detached from it. You see, when I look at meat now, my brain has learned to connect that information to slaughterhouse footage. To the cries of those victims in non-human bodies. It associates meat with abuse and lack of compassion. When i smell milk I immediately smell an infant. I see the baby calf that has been stolen from a mother and had not got a chance to drink his mother's milk because people wanted it. You have to understand the psychology behind your behavior, behind your choices and your desires. These things are not permanent. It's mostly just about how your brain has been wired. You can learn to love the taste of natural, vegan food just as you learned to love the taste of animals. As for God's intentions, I ask you this: Is a slaughterhouse the house of God, or a house of the Devil?

Sorry, I love birds. I own a few, but I'm not going to stop eating them xD true I do think livestock should be raised in better conditions and treated better but I also don't think it's wrong to eat meat. I think as long as they're treated well and they don't go to waste there is nothing wrong with it. There is actually a cattle farm, can't remember the name, where all their cows are spoiled like crazy during their time before being butchered. Not only do happy healthy cattle make for better meat but that way they at least got to enjoy their lives as well.

I don’t think most people realize how affectionate turkeys are. They fall in love with their person. ❤ they are sweet and protective birds.
Turkeys are extremely social birds & as we can see, they adore attention, demand it, even.
