MJ sang the song but the song was written and also later on performed by the wonderful LEON WARE who wrote so many amazing songs for himself and others (Marvin Gaye - I Want You). Mark GV - Reference Point
The musicianship, the vocal, the mix and that powerful arrangement....all those elements working together actually brought tears to my eyes. It's always been my favorite of the songs MJ recorded and this takes it to new heights. Truly amazing.
You are like one of only a couple of people talking about Ben here. Bless you. I was beginning to worry I was the only one that only clicked because I saw him. Lol
Like, as a trained musician and someone who loves music in general, I absolutely loved the musicianship and the talent of these musicians, but Ben was what brought me here.
Amazing recordings. So much going on and perfect mixing. Brutal barytone solo and everything is audible, both Rhodes and strings without a lot of mud. This must cost a million bucks to to put together and record. Thanks for uploading this awesome live take.
Where could one purchase this arrangement? I would like to play this with my school stage/Jazz band. We are always looking for inspiring and challenging pieces to play and this arrangement is off the charts!!👍
You are funny. The original will be always the best. That energy, passion what MJ brought, nobody can do. The singing technique is important but not the all. It's a great cover, MJ would be proud but he is the master. He was only 13 when he sang it.
i've never been more attracted to ben fankhauser oh my god.
Dedicated this version to my Son, 2022' because it closely resonates what I feel in my heart for him. 💕
He'll think I'm being corny.
Wow!!
SING SIR
Ben Fankhauser has the voice of an angel
Nice to hear the baritone sax solo!
Beautiful version! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 Awesome Awesome cover I mean
Everything!!!!!!
There is nothing like some amazing baritone riffs
This is really solid, needs more attention pronto.
Great rendition. Jose Feliciano also did a great version on the 80's when signed by Berry Gordy from Motown Records.
I just wanna know how I JUST found this.

Well recorded and well performed! This rendition and Beyonce's clearly go hand in hand.

Wasn't expecting such epic mess from a vid with 500 views great work my man!!!
likr i love michel jackson
It nice and different BUT...there is nothing like the original with harpsichord and a boy soprano singing it. But again. Interesting version.
I think this is better than the original
it might very well be

instruments swallowed his voice
Great, but a bit over-produced. The band is overpowering. Love to see them dial it back and find more of a groove.
Didn't care for it, the arrangement seems busy for no reason and Ben's voice has no fire .nice effort though.
No dude just no.... don’t ever try to sing black music again. Thank you.
