why do these chord progressions sound like the most beautiful thing ever

so basically the key things are staying in key (no pun intended) and i found that going from a power chord -> then turning your fingers around (making it a minor chord) is a nice progression too. then another cool thing is what i call "extending your fingers" so basically you have a chord, and experiment with just placing one your finger anywhere on the fretboard (close to the chord! most importantly) or any number of fingers at all. then, you have to stay in key for the maximum beauty!
