Tallulah's theatrical performances are fantastic! Her husky voice, the way she touches her hair holding her cig, she floats in the air! What a woman! I love her!!!
]This is simply REMARKABLE! I had no idea this film even existed, even though I've been an ardent admirer of Miss Bankhead since nineteen hundred and...well, let's just say, "years and years" and let it go at that. And to see her with another greatly admired actress, Agnes Moorehead and TV & radio humorist Herb Shriner as husband Frank in one of Tony's vignettes, well, all I can say is "Thank you TH-cam contributors for keeping these treasured performances alive!"
Wow!!! Tallulah Bankhead AND Agnes Moorehead on screen together, and that's just in the first three minutes! A thousand thanks for sharing these regrettably rare film highlights! And you're so right -- TH-cam needs much more of Miss Bankhead.
GREAT clip! Can you, by any chance, upload the WHOLE film to TH-cam? I have heard that this 'Main Street to Broadway' (1953) is the only film (full-length) appearance of Rodgers & Hammerstein (and they appear together!) So I'd love to see the whole movie!
Back around 1985 and 86, the New Orleans station would play this constantly. It must have been in their library. Seemed like a lousy movie...but there was the scene with Rodgers and Hammerstein and an original song for the film. It's hard to believe, considering how frequently one encountered it back then, that it seems impossible to see it today.
La Bankhead makes one feel grateful for the USA. She was never a 'great' actress, but that didn't matter - she was HERSELF! She was worldly-wise, cynical - she'd seen it all - NOTHING would shock HER! Basically, she was FUNNY.
Tallulah Bankhead was my great great great aunt I've heard so many stories about her she's amazing but was wild
Tallulah is my cousin via my grandmother Gladys Carr (her mother was a Bankhead… Tallulah Bankhead’s first cousin)

I love this, such a classic with Tallulah who was not recorded as often as we'd like. Agnes "Endora" is an added bonus.
I never even heard of this! Funny, love Talluh! Thanks for uploading.
Won't a kind soul upload the entire film???
It's so fabulous and incredibly rare!!!
Please!!!!
Tallulah's life is so interesting. thanks for posting
The Fabulous Tallulah - many thanks!
Thank you very much for this gem.
Great ladies of cinema.
Bette Davis and her "Margo Channing" obviously owed a LOT to Ms. Bankhead!!!
Ms. Davis said many times that "All about Eve" was sticktly fiction and not based on any actress. Davis and Bankhead were very similar.
Exactly, it was based on her wlw relationship with Lizbeth Scott iirc. They stole her real life story. I'd kill to see an All About Eve with Tallu.
8:50 when she throws the glass is so perfect

At 15:34, that's Tallu's real-life maid, Rose Riley, playing herself.
Thank you so much for pointing this out!

I have the whole film, I’ll see if I can upload it.
Hello, that would be great! Just checking in if you figured out a way to upload it?
@@mehul6220 it’s actually on VHS tape so I need to first convert it to digital. Need to find some equipment to accomplish that.
7:35 she takes a snort of coke!
I noticed that too. She was sly...lol
I would not have caught that, and I thank you.
The greatest female impersonator ever!

Tallulah was a BiBi and Agnes was Hollywoods favorite Dike. I sure hope
