Raffling his boat (in a method that would match value) would either require a massive following, or tickets costing so much nobody would actually do it. It wouldn't work.
Doug Scholl wasn't necessarily a serious suggestion! But as it happens I'd be happy to buy a £10 raffle ticket- another 4999 like me and he would be getting close to a fair price... a challenge perhaps, but not completely impossible...

I'm very vaguely toying with the idea of a self-fitout of a sailaway or maybe robbing a bank to buy a brand new fully-fitted boat to my exacting spec :-)
