Ok so here goes the backstory. Ditto A&B are about the relationship between Fans and Kpop Idols from the fans POV. An Older Heesoo pops in a VHS of her recordings from her youth & her "Besties" New Jeans. Her camera represents technology/smartphones, how fans interact with the Idols. She lives in an imaginary world behind the lense but the boy catches her eye (he also represents the real world). Her dilemma then develops on who to choose. If you get the chance to rewatch both videos someday, The older Heesoo is watching a Blank tape the whole time , Whenever NJs appears on screen,its her imagination. OMG is the same parasocial relationship between Fans and Kpop Idols however it's from the Kpop Idols POV. Hanni believes she's an iPhone, Haerin thinks she's a cat. Which they keep calling her a cat at the start of Ditto. Minji thinks she's a doctor not a patient, Danielle sees that Fourth Wall , she's living in her own show. Hyein believes she's in different fairytales. Lastly, Cool With You, Its inspired by the classic greek story of Cupid except the sexes are reversed. Cupid 💘, inspired & spread love to humans. One day he (in this video She) falls in love with a Mortal woman names Psyche (The man in this case). Cupid eventually gives up all his Godly powers and becomes Mortal in order to Marry his Human Love. Cupid's mother (Aphrodite) forbids it but he marrys anyways. After some time , His mother has had enough of this "nonsense " & comes down to earth and Makes Psyche fall in love with a different man. A heartbroken Cupid eventually returns to his Destiny of spreading love . The girls represent the Muses, Fairyies, Fates, Nymphs that always accompanied Cupid and Aphrodite. They represent the essence of everything that is beautiful, Artistic, Love , Inspiration etc ... Cool With You is basically The Fates reminding Cupid of who she is and what she's meant to do. The story is kind of like the old saying, It is better to have Loved & Lost , Than to never have Loved at All
Honestly, it wasn't what I was expecting tbh. I listened to them, and they have bubbly, innocent, and carefree charm in the music and the chreo. But when I heard about the backstories from ya'll, you can imagine how shocked I was.
