Kid ME, who followed the series from the BEGINNING, was STILL shocked to see his Entei. 😅 My older cousin and I Literally shrieked ‘UNFAIR!’ At the lame time. Literally the only way past it was to CATCH IT. LOL 😂
As someone who absolutely loved Entei and their movie as a child (the likely reason my parents made this my first Pokémon game) the battle against Dakim was quite the rollercoaster. :o
Honestly the battle with Dakim makes you truly realize that Team Cipher means BUSINESS. Your first Cipher Admin is Miror B. and the worst he's done is kidnapping a pokemon and attempting to kidnap a girl, something we've already seen in Pokemon so that's kinda par for the course with Pokemon- Teams Rocket, Magma, and Aqua have generally done worse. Heck even Miror B.'s theme makes him feel like a goofball, despite the surprising threat that is a team of Ludicolo. And the Shadow Pokemon? Being informed that their hearts are closed off and they will attack trainers is surprising, but they fall just like any other Pokemon (Surprisingly fast) and their own signature attack causes recoil damage for a surprisingly unremarkable amount of damage making them appear to be jokes. Heck the Cipher Peons are just as big goofballs as Miror B. Then you encounter Dakim, the Goliath of a man that barely looks human. This man straight up Force Palm's a guy instead of accepting a battle with him, then comes at you with a f*cking Entei. And the actual Cipher Admin theme starts playing and you realize the colosseum finals music was only the build-up for this intimidating theme and that these Cipher Admin's do not mess around.
For real, the Cipher Admins just using random Pokemon in XD kinda killed some of their intimidation factor as they're not as willing to just whip out a fucking Moltres to compliment their sun team unexpectedly
@@crystalqueen9711 Honestly adding to that point, the Admins of Gale of Darkness generally feels like they were struggling to fill the empty roles of the previous admins. Lovrina is the head scientist behind the Shadow Lugia project... But she's a Teenager- impulsive, still has a lot to learn, and isn't as immoral as Ein. Plus Shadow Lugia dropped the Transport Ship, and she needed Krane's research in hopes of making Lugia unpurifiable- Which is isn't. Snattle attempts to do the same thing Venus did, except he has none of the charisma that Venus did to control The Under. And as impressive and intimidating as replacing the entirety of Phenac City is, it doesn't change the fact he had to replace everyone with Cipher Agents instead of converting everyone like Venus did, and then he has to rely on just keeping people out of Phenac. And Gorigan may be pretty strong and wild, but he lacks the sheer mass and size of Dakim- Plus he's an engineer, not an enforcer like Dakim, his job was just to keep the Shadow Pokemon Factory going- Not beat down anyone going up against Cipher. Miror B... Cannot be replaced. But if anything Miror B. was effectively the Front man of Cipher, his goons had none of Cipher's gear on them, they really only looked like a group of thugs while Miror B. himself was flashy- Intending to keep everyone's focus on him and his seemingly small gang of punks. And in Gale of Darkness it makes sense why Miror B. Wasn't replaced- Cipher is in no position to need or make use of a Front Man, heck the two people that were posing as Cipher's leaders weren't replaced. All this really shows that Cipher is having to make do with what they got, their Admins are just filling in the roles of the Organization as best they can because their best are gone, and if the role isn't important then they can't afford to waste resources and manpower to fill it.
Or maybe, unlike the colleseum, in gale of darkness the legendaries didn't reach "finished state" for the admins ( that's why greevil have 4 legendary in his side instead of giving them to admins)
@@phoenixchampion7 Furthermore, their new leader, Greevil, relied heavily on Dark Pokémon. His entire plan consisted of a dark legendary that couldn't be purified, things that ended up being false, and his team After capturing all of his shadow Pokémon, it's silly. They're not weak, but they're really pathetic compared to their other team. On the way, Evice didn't need legendaries to be A monster in combat. He didn't even need dark Pokémon. I guess Evice did know how to run an organization properly.
I desperately wish TPC would let Genius Sonority develop another Orre adventure. For me personally, nothing in Pokemon has ever topped the feeling of coming face to face with a Cypher Admin, seeing them whip out a Legendary, fighting tooth and nail to finally snag it, healing it, and then sending it back out into battle to trash the rest of their team.
Same here just to see Orre return again someday would make us all so happy!! This game was incredible in so many ways and I hope a day comes where a remake or a new game that takes place after Colloseum and Gale Of Darkness.
Genuinely love how all of the admins took advantage of the double battle format and had actual strategies to defeat you. Dakim using the Protect-Earthquake strategy to simultaneously defeat your Pokémon and ruin your chances to catch Entei was genius.
Genius Sonority made some of the smartest ai trainers in the series. Meanwhile gamefreak is still like, 'prioritize type effectiveness over everything else'.
remember stomping my feet up and down while smashing on the a button with my gamecube controller thinking that''ll give me a better chance of catching entei.
Anyone else find it super fun and awesome that the beginning part of this theme plays during the final battles of tournaments in this game and the whole thing plays during the final battles of tournaments in XD?! I didn’t expect the latter but it was fantastic!!!
I love how the three major Cipher admins have a battle strategy they follow: ----------------- Dakim: Earthquake+Protect Venus: Attract with mostly Female Pokemon. Ein: Rain Dance Strats
This music hyped up the admin battles so hard, it was one of the first times growing up I had to think of a strategy to not only win but capture a Pokémon before the battle ended
No but I was shocked when he just straight up punched a dude instead of actually battling. I had no idea humans could fight their own battles in the Pokeverse.
Idk maybe something like "don't ask me for anything again"? Though if that was the case, it HAS to be the perfect follow up to XD with little to no issues outside of nitpicks.
This song, along with the electric sounds of thunderbolt and constant rain sounds during the battle with Ein and his Raikou will always be synonymous with this song in my mind. I hear one and immediately think of the other. Your not just battling a man, but a man who has a powerful force of nature under his control. The particularly tense parts of this theme go eerily well with watching the snag ball shake as your anxious about Raikou breaking free and proceeding to finish you off. It's equally frustrating when you happen to KO Raikou unintentionally and have to reset your game. It's one of the hardest fights in the whole game, Entei and Dakim was challenging, but if you had a way around earthquake, say flying types or levitate you were usually okay.
@@zacharyesparza71993 that problem was, that I don't know that back in the days. But today I used that glitch with the masterball :) to complete the game :D
