Love this video! My husband is SO excited, he got his almost 10 pounds of tuber Purple Yams (dioscorea Alata purple) today, he ate some and the rest he is going to grow. He can not wait until he has something as beautiful as yours! Thank you, Robbie.

Did I miss the video? If you put the harvest on video I will definitely watch it. So glad for you. I still have to harvest mine. I hope I get enough for a meal:-) and a piece to propagate.

We are not growing any yet. No video yet, but you are right, my husband should document how he is going to plant them. He BOUGHT the 10 pounds, he has been waiting for their arrival, you'd think he was waiting for a baby :)

    Hello, great information.
    1. Does the cutting yield tubers with same sizes as minisetts methods ?
    2. What is the time duration for maturity

Well done. It is always nice to try new things especially when they work. Best wishes Bob & Mel.

I love to do this with sweet potatoes :) I just keep adding bags and putting the vine in the soil :) Great video thank you so much for sharing! :)

I am always looking for ways and method to propagate more plants other than planting from seeds. Part of the fun and joy and of gardening:-)

Sweet potatoes grow very easy. Just cut the branch at least 6 inches, remove the leaves and plant directly onto soil. In 3 days it will grow roots.

Quick question: I can see in the video that tuber development had already begun, but have any of the plants you propagated in this way produced marketable sized tubers? Is the yield from plants propagated in this way comparable to that of conventionally propagated plants? Has anyone else out there tried this? Can you say?

The yam vine will not produce roots i can assure you that would be like air layering and the yam plant doesn't do that readily im curious though with so many arial tubers or yam seeds why hasn't she set them for new plants

Just looking at this video and im seeing deceits that yam isn't a young plant and also the part under the ground which she dug up was also from a ariel tuber these are yam seeds the "arial tubers" are those that can be planted to get yams they are the seeds. Pretending that she didn't know there was a arial tuber on the vine buried is trickery dont like videos which deceive.

As God is my witness sir/madam if you have been watching my other videos you will learn that I am in the learning process of this crop. Many of what I was doing was experimental and for my own learning which I am sharing to my viewers and subscribers. I am glad for you to have been so knowledgeable regarding this type of plant. However, I resent your accusation of me being deceitful. You sir/madam is wrongfully accusing me of deceit. TH-cam is after all an informative media which allows us to share our knowledge of any particular subjects as well as our learning process of any subjects. This is how we share the things we already know and things we are yet to learn from other knowledgeable and other TH-cam channel owners such as yourself?
