Well this little EDF is quicker than I thought! watch the video for the 2 part results!

Great video, great flight, and great landings. That jet checks all the boxes.

Yes it does but lights would be great.

I put flights 6 and 7 on my Panther today. Since Spektrum basically doubled the gain in the AS3X+ algorithm, I now start out with the AS3X gain sensitivity set to 0.5X instead of 1X. I set up the Stop Lock gain channel on switch C to give me 35%, 70%, and 100%. This lets me set the gyro gain with the Stop Lock set to 100% as per their wiki, and then I can select 70% or 35% to see which one is best. I put the AS3X gyro gain channel on the left trimmer (L Trim) for a couple of reasons. For one, the transmitter will remember its position when I switch models and come back to it. Also, I don't change my AS3X gains when the wind conditions change. I set the gyro gains as high as possible and leave them there. As long as the plane won't go into oscillation at high speed, the gains will be fine when the plane is flying slow or when the air is smooth. Some guys mix throttle into the gain channel, but I think that's overkill.

I understand your reasons but I honestly think all this tech with as3x+ and all of it is making it to technical and sucking the fun out of the hobby to certain degree. I would rather be an instinctive pilot not a technical one.i think the regular as3x and using rates and expo is far enough for me. I understand flight modes but still like figuring things like flap the elevator mix the ole fasion way through trial and error.

@@FatGuyFliesRC After flying without gyros for about 55 years, I've enjoyed having a different challenge. Gyros make the small foam planes fly better. Flight mode trim is great because I can change the flap>elevator mix in the air in between approaches until the plane will come down final without having to push forward or hold back on the stick.

@@TheRCAviator I appreciate what your saying and yes gyros are huge help for small foam planes, but trying to explain to new pilots how flight modes and the advanced as3x + stuff is very hard to do. That is why I prefer to stick with simple setups with only expo and throws explained. I dont want to overload a new pilot with too much tech.
