Whats the license use on the generated patterns?

I wouldn't want to steer you wrong, so please consult the Adobe website for answers. I BELIEVE most of your generated patterns can be used commercially (without images of people in them) unless specifically designated otherwise by the product. But I don't think you can copyright them. Please consult Adobe for their official answer.

when I changed the color theme and clicked on generate, it generated new prints, it didn't recolor the print selected

That's the thing about the AI - every time you are going to get a new print. However, you can go about changing colors another way. With your pattern selected on an object, go to Edit>Edit Colors>Recolor Artwork. Here you can play with colors to your heart's content and save any patterns that you like as the new color. Here is a tutorial showing how to use this recolor art feature th-cam.com/video/BA0-tHAMPoQ/w-d-xo.html
      Hope this helps!

Is this the link/video you were referring to? th-cam.com/video/Jga5i5ZJS3A/w-d-xo.htmlsi=saMg-YHc6qcAJ9fB

It's on the end screen of the video. One is a link for a color series and the other one about adding color with the Blend Tool is the one I was referring to in the tutorial. You can watch the whole video or jump to 5:12 and it will walk you through saving color swatches --- they work the same as the patterns. Hope this helps. Sorry for the confusion.
