But even if you did it would only be an exaggeration...the losers Shipley outs never even served or were discharged almost as soon as enlisting. These ppl who fake their service are both liars are dangerous sociopaths to society bc they try to use their facade to attain power and prestige. They have no honor.
And I never served in any branch of military but I pride myself on it. When I was 16 i decided to never cut my hair for any1 or thing...then decided to take a stand against military industrial complex by abstaining from the economy of projectile weapons and took the french code of chivalry that prohibits use of projectile weapons in honorable combat. So I stayed true to my vows and joining military or cops would break my oath.

@HDJonnyU As a woman, that pissed me off as well. I was young enough while most of Viet Nam was happening, and my parents didn't discuss it, so I don't even know the paper they subscribed to had much info on the SEALs or any of the military. The other story that pisses me off is the story (of troops in Viet Nam) about raping women and children. I was in Junior High when troops were starting to return home, and what I did see on the news was troops getting spit on by people because of what they had read in the papers about the things they did to women and children. I wasn't there, so I can't say if it did or didn't happen, but what those troops got from people when they got home was ridiculous. They didn't realize that our troops were forced to go over there, it wasn't their choice.I don't know what all they did, but when I see a retired serviceman, I make it a point to shake their hand if they are able, and tell them thank you for serving. My son served with the 82nd Airborne, and came home from Afghanistan surviving an IED among other things. That terrifies me, but I'm proud of his service.

A bunch of us in High School had just watched "The Dear Hunter" and "Platoon". His story was a combination of the two. Turned out he was in the Coast Guard (or something like that)... I mean no disrespect to the Coast Guard (they helped my family on a few occasions), but if they say they were a Seal and POW, that's a problem.

You need to read about the My Lai massacre. Americans absolutely raped and killed women and children on a massive scale in Vietnam. They weren't protecting the USA, they were killing innocent locals.
A million innocent Iraqis were killed by America to steal their oil, just in recent years.
You don't really think America is spreading freedom and democracy? Every nation they've been at war with has a stack of oil or natural gas etc like Afghanistan. That was all about the control of pipelines. Google trans-Afghan pipeline.
Gaddafi wanted to start selling oil in gold instead of the petrodollar so the USA overthrew him and put Islamic extremists into power. America actually support Saudi as they support the petrodollar but converting to Christianity is punishable by death in Saudi. It is the most oppressive nation on Earth. ZERO human rights. They keep that power with American backing because America wants to oil. As long as nations use the petrodollar the USA can basically print money.
So millions dead and all these wars for American control of oil. You do know that the CIA overthrew the democratically elected leader in Persia, which led to the Islamic revolution. That's not a conspiracy this is a known fact. So the USA is responsible for that as well as they wanted the oil. It was a peaceful democracy but the US tried to put a dictator in charge and they fought back. Google the 1953 Iranian coup d'état.
So yes, the USA tortures and murders women and children. Over a million innocents killed so far this century. All for oil.

My Grandfather (currently 98 Years old) served in the Navy & was on the USS Hornet when it sunk in the battle of Santa Cruz. Anniversary of that is tomorrow (10/26). My grandpa NEVER talks about it & he rarely wears anything Navy related as well. We all know what he went through and know it’s obviously a touchy subject. The man hates flying but eventually he agreed to fly to San Francisco & go to Alameda to see the rebuilt Hornet. Except when my dad passed (his oldest son) I had never saw my grandfather cry. Not even when his wife of 70+ years passed back in may of this year. That’s when I knew that what this man went through changed him permanently. I appreciate what you do Don. It’s not just the fact that these people get the admiration & benefits that comes with stolen valor, they also get the peace of mind of not having the memories haunt them & change them as people forever. That’s what I think is the real heinous part.

It can't be that common among veterans especially the older generations. Probably the younger generations are fabricating their service. Considering the majority of them are WOKE now. Also, there's stolen valor rampant in the VA system as well. That's why I think there should be a task force to start investigating & confirming military service. ⚓

Stolen Valor became more common in 1980s, then grew 📈 after 2001, GWOT. I read a item about 12mo saying the DoD-Army says there are roughly 24 US POW veterans remaining total 📂, but the VA and state military sources provide POW support, benefits to over 124 "veterans". 😡

KIA in SVN on my third birthday, doing what he wanted to do.
