My goodness that is one heck of a high school marching band! There are obviously a lot of kids in that band in drum corps, and their staff is doing an amazing job. Kudos!!
@@MintyChipArt yes they can. If you do drum corps you are not allowed to participate in marching band that season. Similar thing with WGI. If your school has a scholastic group, you are not allowed to participate in Independent without permission from the band director
Stephen Rhodes Boi Avon is the Blue Devils equivalent of high schools... take the loss and be happy thay Carmel actually got a win for once. Carmel don't question the judges whenever Avon beats them. Good for Carmel, beating a show where it was mostly voiceovers.
Stop with the stupid BD comparison. Avon hasn't won a championship since 2010. But they've done outstanding work every year and especially this year. And Avon always likes to challenge what a high school band is capable of. You can't use the "easy show compared to the rest of the groups" that BD haters like to throw out.
I am happy for Carmel, I guess. Rules are rules. Even if that means Avon lost by a tie-breaker. All the more incentive to work harder next year. Looking forward to the first rematch. See ya there, Greyhounds. And for the sake of sportsmanship, (I think that's what it's called) have a great season.
Avon is so good. Walt Whitman poem is a great inspired piece. Appalachian Spring is such an overused piece of music that is close to becoming a parody of itself as there is nothing new you can bring to the score. This is a great show, but I believe that may have influenced not winning GE to a certain degree.
I think the problem with this show was the drill , it’s seems too cluttered and not spread out enough at points. Like not super effective but those kids moved a ton. Maybe could have benefited from props
Walt Whitman poem. The title is inspired by the poem itself, and indirectly probably from the Levi's ad campaign years ago. Cypress Independent had a similarly themed show in WGI with the same title in 2010. The more you learn *star ding*
As im watching different performances from these competitions i get why avon gets as much credit as they do, but for me its only show wise, ive never actually liked the music they play bc like you said, its basic to me

Timothy Ray fun fact. At Avon no one in the marching band does drum corps until after we graduate. A rule by the directors.
@@w0lfman394 How can that be a rule?? Thats awful there is no way the band directors can enforce that

I asked myself “where’s the pit?” Then I looked at where the pit was and gasped
fantastic drill and overall visual,,,,,,,and done with minimal props!
In the event of a tie.....
...i fight everyone bc avon deserved it

TheWindsofWonder I would say Avon is like crown, in terms of winning and what they try to do on the field
Should have won i will fight that result forever

Can I ask what your video camera/mic setup consists of?
Rob Gilley this is the video from music for all because Leander’s is at the same angle and has similar quality
What is that song that starts at 5:54
Jhon Bartley simple gifts
Jhon Bartley it's from Appalachian Springs
@@jakey477 My bad, I always get the two mixed up.

Why did they do an arrow set?
Master Link The theme was “Go Forth”, so the arrow literally symbolized going forward. Pretty clever writing on their part.
yeah, there are arrows all over the show.

Bruh they literally won best Visual that year 💀

That was the same guy who said "Pioneers Oh Pioneers" in the 2013 Marian catholic band but I like MC better because this music is too basic
