I was there in the crowd and it was a special moment cementing his return to Apple. He was touched by peoples reactions. Both at that moment and afterwards in the hallways.

He deserved it! failing is one thing, being pushed away from something you love is another, but climbing out of that hole stronger and better than ever. Nothing will replace that feeling and I know it personally! I was written off early in my career also, pushed out the door by the narrow-minded...... ten years later I find myself back at the helm of something near and dear to my heart.

He never liked to share the spotlight- in fact when he launched the Macintosh, he never credited the team.

The Retina display MacBook is pretty much all Steve...except maybe the HDMI port, which Steve probably wouldn't have approved. But seriously, making the laptop dramatically thinner, making the MacBook Pro all flash storage, doing exactly what they did with the MacBook Air and bringing it to the Pro. I mean, Steve said the Air was the "future" of laptops," did he not? Seriously, it's too early to say "they're not the same without Steve," because a lot of Steve's work is still evident even now.

Even under Steve's helm, they didn't ALWAYS "change what we thought about technology." They released A LOT of incremental upgrades, so how is it any different now? It's stupid to say "Well, now Steve's gone, and the iPad hasn't changed despite only being around for two years, well that's it, end of Apple!" Yes, later down the road, we might see a decline, or we might not. But it's WAYYY too early to see that.
