I want you to know that in 2018 I had emergency surgery woke from a two day long coma and I suffered brain damage and forgot who I am. I saw a neurologist and was diagnosed with amnesia so the doctor prescribed a medication called aricept which helped however when I discovered your channel and listened a lot and halped me to remember who I am. Thank you for healing me with the music. 🌴🐊🦎🌧️🐬😊
What a wonderful story, @JamesFairfield3593 thank you. I'm a very big believer in the healing power of music. I'm a Singer/songwriter, and I also use Tibetan singing bowls for therapy sessions. I'm so happy you're regaining some memories. Good luck, I hope you continue your terrific healing.🤞🙏👍
A very funny story about one of the first VJ's of MTV. When she was being hired to host MTV, she had no idea about music videos at the time and she asked the producers who was going to spin the records. She thought she or someone was actually going to spin records in front of a TV camera like a visual radio station. Who knew that concept would become a reality 40 years later on TH-cam? I am instantly in love with your channel. Keep up the amazing work and keep spinning!!
That's a great story! I seem to remember there being some radio stations back in the 80s that used to broadcast video of their programs on public access TV. However the DJs would just be sitting in a chair unenthusiastically swapping tapes so it was fairly boring to watch. So glad you are enjoying our channel. Mahalo nui for watching and commenting!
There were only two female VJs at first, Martha Quinn and Nina Blackwood. Referring to them generically and not naming names simply cheapens the story.
@@VillaVybes I've got the original MTV t shirt, so proud of that shirt, I keep it on top of the pile of clean laundry for weeks. If I roll it up and send it with anything that will fit inside the closest box, will you authorize it?
@@VillaVybes What I'd give to see that on a hard disk. I'd stop what I'm supposed to be doing and move Krunch and Riley Girl of the bed. That would be a miracle 🙏 Is that divine?
Not only do you do a great job at spinning and selecting....your continuous mix leaving no dead air....keeping the TH-cam ads from interrupting every song! Ty!!
Good point! We really attempt to minimize the amount of ads shown yet TH-cam always seems to find ways to slip them in anyway. Glad to hear the non-stop mix is keeping them at bay.
@@VillaVybes It is great to listen to an hour + of continuous music! The selection on all of these episodes is just incredible and makes my day go by so much faster. It's also wonderful to see someone so young clearly enjoying what she's playing...I love the movement of Z-Bear. Keep up the great work and I look forward to what y'all do next! Thank you from Texas! 🤠
Thank you for watching and also for appreciating our eclectic selections. We choose our tracks strictly by vybe so we sometimes include songs and artists not normally found on other Yacht Rock playlists. We ask ourselves "Can you imagine water flowing by as this song is playing?". If the answer is "Yes" the it's in.
There is something so special about the feeling you get from the music when a person is spinning records from their personal collection. No Spotify playlist can match your videos. Thanks for the great vybes :-)
Your Awesome!! I wish we were friends back in the day, Music [Good Music] , That you have put out there for us, I know it help saved my life, Depression, Sad Sad ........med's & Lots of therapy!!! Losing my Daughter. I ,,, will ... always ... be empty, But I do say listening Villa Vibes has me singing and crying, even dancing in the kitchen. SUPER HELPS!!!! RIP MY BEAUTIFUL INSIDE AND OUT DAUGHER, TARA KRISTIE!!! THANK YOU!! K,P
Great stuff! All these songs mean something and evoke some kind of mood. This was back during the days of originality when every performer/group had their own, unique - yet identifiable sound. You heard it on the radio and then went to the local store to get it on tape, 8-track, or album.
Mahalo for watching and enjoying. You are absolutely correct about these songs and the performers that made them. There was so much texture and meaning in every note that pulled the listener in. And as you mentioned it encouraged a trip to the record store where you would end up discovering even more new and interesting music. We have plans for a brick and mortar record store in the future that will hopefully help re-create some of those experiences.
Wow! Winning? We Don't Talk Anymore? Apparently your music catalog is endless, and you are AMAZING! It's baffling to me how the lyrics just come flying out of the dusty, rusty, musty "file cabinet" banished in the deep, dark recesses of my brain. Singing along as we speak. I must be amazing too! LOL 😜
Giiiiirrrrlll! Sometimes you blow me away, songs like Little Willie... I've heard you play other songs that I've not heard in awhile but then you go and break out the Bob Seger, Blame it on midnight! I haven't heard that in so long, come to think of it I can't even remember the last time I heard a Bob Seger song. Thank you and keep spinning those memories that make us smile.
Love this girl and her music. You take me back to a time when my parents were picking the radio station and I can't get enough. Add in your dancing and the fact you genuinely seem to enjoy your work and its pure magic. I wish I could show you my collection of rock and roll picture discs. I have dozens and I think you would appreciate them.

What a career this man has had, in the Country music genre alone he has 18 CMA awards, twice the "Entertainer Of The Year", five times "Male Vocalist Of The Year", has 22 (YEAH TWENTY-TWO) Grammy awards and now he is performing with The Eagles, how many people you know could rival a career like that. 40:23 Count On Me-Jefferson Starship (Released March 1978 Peaked at #8 13 May 1978) 43:28 I'm Winning-Santana (Released 1981 Peaked at #17 1981) Alex Ligertwood performed the lead vocals on this song. Another great playlist, keep em' coming, we are listening.
Mahalo for the lovely compliments! Happy Hour DJs...LOL..that was such a thing in the 80s & 90s. I'm not sure bars even do that anymore, It seems like it's always just a Spotify playlist being played too loud these days.

33:15 Shame On The Moon-Bob Seger (Released 30 November 1982 Peaked at #2 26 February 1983)
37:46 Let Me Love You Tonight-Pure Prairie League (Released 27 April 1980 Peaked at #10 12 July 1980) Vince Gill was the lead vocalist on this song.
40:23 Count On Me-Jefferson Starship (Released March 1978 Peaked at #8 13 May 1978)
43:28 I'm Winning-Santana (Released 1981 Peaked at #17 1981) Alex Ligertwood performed the lead vocals on this song. The original version of this song was done by Russ Ballard in 1976.
46:51 What A Fool Believes-The Doobie Brothers (Released 20 January 1979 Peaked at #1 14 April 1979)
50:22 We Don't Talk Anymore-Cliff Richard (Released 6 July 1979 Peaked at #7 19 January 1980)
54:25 An Everlasting Love-Andy Gibb (Released June 1978 Peaked at #5 23 September 1978) Andy's brother Barry Gibb of The Bee Gees fame wrote the song and also sang backup on the song, I am amazed it did not peak at number one.

Love the channel! The playlists are what I used to spin during happy hour way back when! But, the D.J.s I had to work with never looked that good! 😘
Mahalo for the lovely compliments! Happy Hour DJs...LOL..that was such a thing in the 80s & 90s. I'm not sure bars even do that anymore, It seems like it's always just a Spotify playlist being played too loud these days.
@@VillaVybes I hear ya'! We used to play games with the people (trivia, etc.) and play what we wanted (within reason). It was a ton a fun! I'm sure some bars still do that stuff, but I wouldn't know. I'm old now. LOL Keep spinning, I'll keep listening!
(how about some commodores?
