Cat 307.5 next gen excavator and x12 steelwrist

  • Cat 307.5 excavator fitted with steelwrist X12 trimming out for a new house site. We are using a Leica CLX700 laser and depth master 200 boom receiver for grade. Loading out a John Deere tractor trailer.

    Thank you for the video. What are the advantages of the 307.5 vs a 308? I am looking at an excavator for tree and brush removal. Would be fitted with a grapple saw, and the swing boom seems like a point for future slop with constant lifting of trees. The tail swing of the 307.5 worries me when working around trees, but if there are large advantages of a standard boom it might make it worth the extra caution needed.

      Was just my preference to go for fixed boom 307.5 rather then the swing boom 308. Less pins to wear out over time. More balanced machine having boom fixed and mounted further back. The 307.5 and 308 have same/similar tail swing. But as 307.5 fixed boom it will actually swing in smaller space as 308 boom is mounted way forward of cab

      A fun machine to check out atleast in europe is the 308 FB the fixed boom short radius👍🏻

    305 can do more jobs than 307.5
