I’m new to mix media and I have to say you are awesome! I never found a good explication about clear gesso until your video. Thank you so much for taking the time to make the video!
Great video! I am in love with clear gesso, and glad that you have added it to the paint line. Shannon Green has recently released a very informative video (here on TH-cam) about her recent communication from JetPens, and has enlightened us all with several new finds of pens for use with MIXED MEDIA. I have picked up several of her suggestions, and am finding them to be excellent choices. One pen that has yet to fail me on any mixed media projects, is the Staedtler Lumocolor PERMANENT. It even writes on plastic and doesn't smear off. It is available affordably from Dick Blick. I like the FudeBall pen for some things, but have actually tossed it into my Zentangle pens bag, because it is not terribly reliable. Hope some of these ideas help solve that pen issue we all often deal with when working with a variety of mediums.
Thanks for that Dina. Would this be suitable for bible journalling? I know that you wrote over the gesso with a pen, but does it actually damage the tip of the pen?
I was wondering if I could use it on top of aluminum foil so I can add some color to it using inks or watercolors (and not losing the metallic aspect of it)?
Just wondering - I have noticed that the Dina Wakley Media Clear Gesso is about twice the price as the Prima Marketing Art Basics Gesso. What makes the DW gesso superior to the Prima Art Basics Gesso? (I just ordered the DW off of Amazon and I am looking forward to using it on my coloring book pages.)
Is it smooth for using in Bibles to art journal. The liquitex clear gesso is very rough like sandpaper, tears ups pens and must be sanded. Art Basics is supposed to be very smooth but very hard to find right now. I am using the Triart clear gesso as it is smooth for delicate paper.
Hi Debby, I asked the same thing again today. Hoping that Dina will reply as I would be very interested as well, and like you, we find the Art Basics clear gesso very hard to find even now!

Can you draw with graphite pencils over gesso?

Does this work on a canvas? Is a paint by numbers canvas?
