- A thriller of its kind and worth a watch! A reupload of probably one of the best matches in DotA (1) history, the FARM4FAME 3 Winners Bracket Final between Meet Your Makers and Natus Vincere game 2, held August 2011, which turned out to be one of the closest games of any online tournament seen so far with a set of teams of this calibre.
When old, classic DotA players will watch this game in 10 years from now, they will cry.
I always cry when i see good matches from Dota 1.
Irimia Gabriel been watching DotA 1 matches, I have retired from DotA to focus on bigger things and this brings a tear in my eye. Good times.

In DotA, every hero had a name and a title. For your two examples it was
Alleria, the Windrunner
Black Arachnia, the Broodmother
Valve chose to use the title for most heroes, some still are called by their name though like Kunkka, Clinkz or Magnus.

Because each hero has a name and a title. In this game for example, Xboct's hero is called "Razzil Darkbrew", and in the health bar his title says "Level ## Alchemist". In Dota 2, Valve uses the title for heroes with names that are copyrighted by Blizzard.

In dota 2 you can easily turn off dota and restart you comp, reconnect back to your game. But in dota 1, once you are dc, you are out. In case someone is dc'd, they will start the game from the last save. There are also saves in between dota 2 competitive matches, but it is automatic and doesnt pop up anything
Dota 2's graphics is so confusing... dota 1 was more clear.

roar lasts for a few seconds, he was mostly disabled by tinker and windrunners hex as well as cm freeze. so bkb would have been essential to tanking everything and straight up going for the rax.

Someone are saying ''why alche didn't build bkb?'' Its because alche's chemical rage on that version has a great regeneration and gives alot of hp and also beastmaster's roar can go through bkb. Alche's chemical rage in the latest version is not the same as before.
yup i agree too. other than vodoo , there is windrunner shackle and also cm frost bite. also the earthshaker stun

Even though I'm a fan of Na'Vi, I will still say that MYM played a Fucking. Incredible. Game. I am very impressed with their performance and raw perseverance. They chose to keep fighting when 99% of players would have called GG, and stuck through for 30 gruelling minutes of DotA and took the opportunity to GG push when presented with it.
They knew XBOCT would throw, and so do I. Though an incredibly skilled player, he has a habit of underestimating his enemies. Never underestimate Tinker Guinsoo

Never give up. Wow the best game.
Some heroes just ended up being called their character name (Riki) and some ended being called their hero name (Beastmaster), those names stuck, and then icefrog who created these heroes in Dota1, put the names they where known for in Dota1 in Dota2. Hope it makes sense :p

It's not rare to see a dual mid lane before 6.79. Teams used to do it mostly with a CK + a support with a stun. Most recent one if I remember correctly was a CK + AA. I don't remember the teams, though.

Where I can agree that those 2 were best in europe, there were few asian teams, that could compete with MyM and NaVi with ease. :)
