This video is a work of art! The attention to detail in every shot is commendable. Truly a feast for the eyes! Those shots are so nice and clean and present nature in the best possible way. Fantastic

Great video! Question - did you hike from the "Highland Base at Kerlingarfjöll" (the Kerlingarfjöll Mountain Resort) to the "Hveradalir geothermal area"? Some online articles suggest driving all the way past the Highland Base at Kerlingarfjöll to the parking at Hveradalir geothermal area and start hiking from there for a 2 hour hiking loop.... did you keep hiking past the Hveradalir geothermal area?
    Thanks

Hi Eric, Yes, we hiked from the resort to Hverdalir geothermal area. You can drive up to the top and just do the 2 hour loop, but there are some decent views along the way from the Mountain Resort to the Hveradlir goethermal area. The resort has a ranger every morning from roughly around 9am - 11am that can walk you through the hikes and give you weather conditions, and he actually recommended us take a different way back where we were able to see the nice horseshoe bend in one of the film photos posted!

@@MichaelandColette Thanks for the response, appreciated. Now I understand that you hiked from the mountain resort to the Hveradlir goethermal area. Question - after reaching the geothermal area, did you continue doing the 2 hour loop from there? or just returned from there back to resort? Because the end of the video shows you walk down the stairs to the geothermal pool.

@@ericchen1205 Yes we did! The entire area weaves in and out of each other with paths so really we probably only did an hour of the loop but you can see the entire area within that hour. When you finally see the geothermal area, there will be a point where you need to turn left or right to explore more of the area. Each way will provide great views and those views will be more or less about the same. Left is usually more muddy, but has more of that iconic view.
