Hey Bradley, great to hear from you. These reissues of the strata east, are superb, in particular Shamek Farrah. To make you feel better it's going to be 94 in London on Fri. Take care of yourself. Best wishes from sunny London. Peter
Peter, yes, I’m extremely happy with these Stratus East/Pure Pleasures. I guess my cousin has good taste after all. Ha! Hopefully, that 94 degrees is not Celsius!! 😁😁
George, these are the first Pure Pleasures that I’ve gotten. I’m extremely impressed with the pressings on these two. They’re kind of hard to get in the US. I got these at Acoustic Sounds and am sure there are a few other places. Good music too! Have a good one.
Hey Bradley, Just came across this video as it was the first recommended video as I was streaming a Strata-East record. To my surprise I hear my name. Glad you came around to some of the Strata-East sounds. Not all the albums on the label are excellent but you certainly showed some good ones. Most are quite good. Peace. -Kieran
Yeah Kieran, some years ago I heard you mention you were into Strata East and I always remembered that so when I heard that some were being reissued I picked up a few. Not into every release but as you say there are some good ones in there! Have a good one!
The Pure Pleasure Strata East releases are excellent, I've picked-up most of them. You are right the Slugs album sounds great, and i've heard Tolliver say the sound engineer recorded the band using one mic!
Phillip, I read that also somewhere about using just one mic. It must have been a very nice mic! I’ll be getting more of those Pure Pleasure releases…good stuff!
A great video Bradley and Strata East is an addictive label to collect once you get into it . The ' First Impressions - Shamek Farrah ' is one of the highlights for sure , an incredible record . The two volumes of ' Live At Slugs ' are both excellent and should be in any Jazz fans collection . There are many more highlights and top albums to purchase on the label and I'm sure you will pick a lot more up .
Richard, yes, I think I am becoming addicted to this label. Definitely, Vol. 2 along with the other Farrah LP. And I have been checking out some of their other releases. I think this will be very enjoyable!!
I think Strata East has some good music that kind of gets buried. When I hear Sluggs I thought of that snail like creature but I guess it could also be “slugging down beer” or even a bullet! So, I’m not sure what would be on the shirt….maybe all three? BTW, my niece’s alma mater was the UC at Irvine Anteaters!

Hey Bradley,
Great show of Strata East. It's a great label for sure, they definitely need these reissues. Good stuff sir!
Stephen, I’d never really listened to any Strata East before but now will certainly check out their catalog. Stay cool!
@@williamnow146 you too sir. I actually am posting a video of the two strata east titles I have
Interesting stuff Bradley. One way to get your records out there? Start your own label! Thanks for the information on these re-issues!
Randy, I guess you wouldn’t have to worry about the record label saying that you suck. Ha! I’ll be checking out some more of these Stratus East.
Forgot to mention, on pure pleasure my favourite release is Sebastian Adeke, Desert Fairy Princess.. highly recommended!
Oh, cool. Will definitely check that out!!

I have not heard of Strata East but it sounds like the reissues are the way to go. I just want a T Shirt from a place called Sluggs

Thanks Nunzio! I’m not sure if I’m familiar with Black Saint but will definitely check them out!
