I took another chance on getting a Xymox pad and I'm happy to say that I finally got one. I ordered a Reserve Max+ on 1-21-2024, I received a USPS tracking number on 1-31-2024 and the pad came in on 2-8-2024. (~14 business days as advertised) Also during this time I received emails from Xymox letting me know the status of the order. One interesting detail was that the pad shipped from Caldwell, ID and not from Yakima, WA where the company is located. Really enjoy your channel and would be interested in your opinion of the Reserve Max+ because it looks to be a redesign from your original Xymox review.
Thanks for the note. I would have been happy to review one of those pads and tried to reconnect with them (part of the point of this video), but they don't seem to have any interest in it and I'm definitely not giving them any of my money.
So the company kinda just did a name change. From xymox percussion to Xymox drum co. Its still the same owners and they operate out of Washington state. They only sell what they have in stock. Hence people will receive items faster. However they have yet to fulfill the massive orders from 2019-2020.
I had a good experience with Xymox. After I ordered my pad, they kept sending me follow up emails and letting me know how far along my pad was from shipping. My pad shipped in 10 business days, and it arrived 4 days after it shipped.
Ordered the hybrid snare back in June and received it late July, I also ordered a tenor kick in December which arrived early January. They’re definitely doing better
Ordered the hybrid snare drum when it launched and never received it. Contacted the new management and got no response. I will never give them any more of my money and would tell every percussionist not to buy their products.
Seems reasonable to me. The company should have completely changed their name if the new management wanted to distance themselves from all of the prior Xymox hate.
@@SnareMan I think it has the same mechanics as a normal pad. But I had some 8mm plywood laying around, got it cut into about a 11 inch playing diameter. For the pad surfaces and rim, I got myself a metal ring which coincidentally fits perfectly with the plywood, along with some 3mm gum rubber and an unused plastic folder to act as a laminate. Put it all together, and I can say for sure that it feels almost like a xymox pad based on the feel and rebound. I'll probably add a snare mechanism in the future if I got myself some metal beads
got my pad today! I live in Honolulu and it took almost 4 weeks to arrive. Not bad considering I live in the middle of the Pacific and my 4 year old Xymox took 4 months to get here. Also my old pad came from Xymox Percussion Co in California, the new one is from Xymox Drum Co in Yakima, WA.
My parents ordered me a hybrid snare on 11/23/23 as a Christmas gift. It’s 12/27 and it hasn’t came yet. They said yesterday that they sent out a new one and would send an email for the order. I’m hoping that I get it this week
I ordered one about a month ago it shipped within 15 days and two or so weeks later I got it, I have one complaint. I ordered the bright blue pad and I got a weird white and slightly blue kind of pad but mostly a whitish kind of color but I think it looks kinda neat. Other than that it has a softer laminated feel to it then a company like rcp or offworld and it has a very nice snare response to it, seems like strong plastic and well built. Would I recommend one? Maybe not considering how they’ve been in the past and I kinda took a gamble because I just had that itch but I’d say if you so badly want one maybe go for it.
An update on my experience with Xymox. After requesting that I send the Hybrid Pad back I let them know that it wouldn’t be an issue so long as they pay for the return. I printed the label, shipped it via USPS and about 2 weeks later( today ) I just received the pad back with a note saying the space was Vacant. This might mean Xymox is officially out of business and was vacated from the premises they were operating out of. If you’d like, I can forward you my emails and pictures via email. 🤙🏽
Honestly, yes! Xymox has extremely improved on the customer service. I was told it would be shipped between 1-15 days and it was shipped in those 15 days, about a week after it said it was shipped, it showed up. The greatest part was that they emailed us letting us know when the pad was shipped and an estimate on when it will arrive. My experience was great!

sounds like an improvement
I'd recommend RCP Drum Company practice pads. I've had one for over a year, and it looks almost new.
Yup. I have lots of reviews on their stuff
NEVER GOT MY PAD. 3 years waiting still
Don’t know what to do or who to contact.
Help?
I think you're out of luck at this point for a pad three years ago. I think new ownership doesn't care about prior orders

I actually got myself an RCP snare pad weeks ago, and it feels really good compared to my DIY xymox pad that i spent 10$ on
How does a DIY Xymox pad work?

I ordered reserve max+ pad and received it in less than a month (ordered 8/26/23 received 9/20). I got exactly what I ordered and it sounds amazing!
Not too bad. A month is definitely better than it used to be, but still long for a normal company.

You Did Not fail. You succeeded in letting The People know the truth. Xymox failed.

Ordered a Hybrid snare in September of 2022, and I have yet to see anything, or hear anything back from their support team
That's the crazy part because other people say they have ordered their since then and received them. Why such inconsistent service?
Ordered it one time and it took over a year to arrive and then when I got it the rims couldn't handle like 5 shots and they broke lol
The hybrid snare or a regular pad?
I bought two pads from them and got them both so nothing to complain about.
Glad to hear it
it only took 2 weeks
Pretty fast
