ah, my new pc worked fine on BF but i never had to replace firmware as they all been done so i thought it was working. until i had to re flash and couldnt. thanks for this vid. after hours of trying it was as simple as getting hte drivers like i did on my old pc. 3 years later your vid is still gold. excellent work
Hey great video! Unfortunately this didn't fix my "Bootloader won't connect failed issue". I reinstalled all the drivers several times already. I could luckily solve it in another way (!): 1. Connect you drone as usual via USB 2. In the SETUP-Tab there's a button "Activate Bootloader / DFU". I clicked it, the drone will restart into Bootloader 3. Don't click "connet" this time 4. Click on the "Update Firmware Button" 5. Flash your desired Firmware, Done! (I could now erase / flash my firmware without issues) Once finished, I could connect to the drone again, new firmware was installed. Hope this helps other ppl., but obviously you need to have the correct drivers running / working, before trying the 5 steps, as DumbThumbs explained really good!
@@2k_yu.k926 It is the programm Betaflight. You can see it at 6:13 when DumbThumbsFPV finally connects successfully. It is the first tab on the left side. (Basically the tab where you land in, when you connect)
thanks dude this worked. I had to do an extra step. After loading drivers. I had to load my quad into bootloader. While in bootloader and still connected to USB i rebooted and reluanched betaflight now i could flash.
brilliant, thanks so much for this, still working in 2024, although the Betaflight links are slightly different, so I have to look up the STM drivers myself.
I've spent wayyyyyyyyy to much time trying to figure this problem out....two days into it lol, THANK YOU so much brother! problemo solved i owe you a beer hahaha!!
I'm gonna lose my mind. I've installed the drivers. I've rebooted. I'm in bootloader mode. In Zadig the only options I have in the dropdown are USB mouse, USB keyboard, CP2102 USB to UART bridge controller. No bootloader.
I am no computer expert but I got into a situation where the driver simply disappeared and I couldn't install it by running the CP21x driver program. After a lot of messing around I found that the following worked: Add the device manually to the Device Manager. As ports do not show up in the list in Windows 10, you'll go to Action>Add Legacy Hardware>Install Manually from a List>Ports (COM & LPT)>Manufacturer = Silicon Labs, Model = Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge. Thereafter it should install, and display the COM Port in the Device Manager. If it displays a COM port, but shows as a broken device, check your cable.
Thank u so much for this video I think that this video is been one of the best that so far I have seen because at least u take ur time to explain it I did subscribe. I have been trying to do all that u are explaining before I see this video and I was lost again thank u.
I still got a problem where the second driver is not installed but I think the problem is in the computer or maybe I'm doing something wrong tonight when I get home from work I will try again to solve the problem
See beta flight picks up COM3 when i use the OSB 1.0.0 driver but then doesn't open the port. But when I install this Win USB 1.7600 beta flight doesn't recognize my FC or COM3 at all and only gives me the manual option. Idk what else to do here. Idk why but I followed your video last week and it worked fine. But I installed the wrong Firmware and am now trying to clean erase in boot mode but like I said now im having the issue above when i update the drivers.
I personally hate windows and always will. Have you tried these things because I've had ALL of this happen to me. Reinstall the drivers after removing them from your machine. 2. Try a different usb cable
Thank's, followed the steps exactly! Worked perfectly, I was skeptical at first because I have tried it before and it did not work. But I flashed two Lumineer F4 AIO perfectly to the new 3.2.2. Thank you so much! I could not download STM32 it would not allow it on the website so I proceed anyway, turned out when I did this previously I already had it downloaded and it would not let me download it again!
I have this problem where it is ONLY going into DFU mode and not into a COM unless I flash my board, every time. Any idea as to what this might be? Thanks!
For Zadig I show 'DFU in FS Mode" while in "boot mode" this happens by typing BL in the CLI line or plugging the FC in while holding the boot button. While not in boot mode it reads "STM32 Virtual ComPort in FS Mode" Any ideas?
Thanks heaps mate, i purchased the Speedybee adaptor to get around this but the app doesnt have as up to date list of firmware as the p.c version of B.F. For the others that may be as daft as me, clicking update firmware was insufficient to actually put me in update ready mode....had to have bootloader button pressed when connecting usb to f.c for single solid red led.
