Whoaaaa, this is awesome content!! Subbed!
Welcome to the team! Be looking out for the live stream next weekend, going to be HUGE!
really great videos please do more!!!
To change direction, no need to go into pool effect with 1.number.line
Only : Assign effect "spot_*" /dir=<
Same with groups, blocks and wings...
that's only true if you're not editing individual lines. since we're working with individual lines as well as entire effects, I chose to use the same syntax for the whole thing so as not to get too confusing for the video.
Hey again how do you store this on to a executer and change it live when the executer is up
If you're using --- ... "SPOT_*" /groups=y --- wouldn't that change every template effect you're using, so you wouldn't be able to have different groups/ etc. for your dimmer/color/other effects?
no. the specific reason is that by NOT putting the underscore in all the other effects, it doesn't match with the quotations, so it won't get affected. I don't really change the parameters for my dimmer effects anyways (again, i'm not punting THAT much, so it's kinda overkill for my particular use case), and for the colors I'll do "_SPOT", so that the command will look for the "_SPOT*" rather than "SPOT_*"
if you wanted to make a way to distinguish between lots of different effect types, you could do something like "SPOT_D*" for dimmer, "SPOT_C*" for color, "SPOT_M*" for movement, etc
@@retinalabuse Yeah i didn't see the other effects i was just wondering
great suggestion with the D/M/C endings, thanks for the fast answer though, great content! :)
My wings don't work. in the cue list cmd Macro is 'SPOT WINGS 2' And in the Macro is Assign Effect 1.''SPOT_CIRCLE TEMPLATE''.1 /wings=-2
Assign Effect 1.''SPOT_CIRCLE TEMPLATE''.2 /wings=-2
Assign Effect 1.''SPOT_PAN TEMPLATE''.1 /wings=-2
Assign Effect 1.''SPOT_TILT TEMPLATE''.1 /wings=2
tilt should be a positive 2 for the .2 line in your circle effect :) let me know if it works, otherwise I'll talk ya through it!
@@retinalabuse thanks it works
What about changing the form?
It's a different syntax, what you're looking for there is 'assign form x at effect y', so it's just a different command for the same thing. I don't personally use form assignments in my effects. Typically that's something I'll only do with dimmers, in which case my dims are on a dedicated stack on my console, and I can button through those. Then the group/wing assignments are made to cover all those effects, so I can access the different forms if I need to, but because PWM and sin have different parameters involved (sin doesn't have attack/release for example), I just use different effects for the same attributes.
Not working! wdym by effect pool number pls HELP!
You have to reference the effect pool number, so instead of effect 37.1 (for effect 37, line 1), it would need to be effect 1.37.1
@@retinalabuse I still don't get It, bcs the line you wrote is
Assign effect 1."BEAM_*".* /dir=>
And when I type it in it doesn't work and I have a couple effects that have a BEAM_ in it I don't understand why its not working
Also the error message says object not found
NVM I FIXED IT TYSM
@@retinalabuseI subbed btw
