Many Lutheran churches here in Denmark looks much the same. Denmark were one of the first countries to convert to Lutheranism, from Catholicism in the 16th Century, if not the first, but, this will blow the mind of an American! Many of our church buildings are much older. I was baptized in a church dating back to approximately 1100 AD, and it is not the oldest still standing Danish church. Some of these churches also have decorations, which date back to the old Catholic days, even though alters to saints and all that idolatry has been removed, of course.

@@andreas8185 So, God created all things in 325 AD, when the Catholic Church were founded on the Council of Naicea? Catholics sure has a mysterious mind and funny timelines!

@@1corinthians15.1-4kjv Have you read The Epistle of Clement to the Corinthians from 96 AD? Clement was the bishop of Rome (pope after Peter, Linus and Anacletus, and was probably trained by Peter himself). His letter to the Corinthians was spread across the Christian world at that time. It stressed discipline in the parishes under the rule of bishops, presbyters (elders/priests) and deacons. The letter shows that their was a hierarchy from early on in the parishes/dioceses and that the bishop of Rome was an important figure already in 96 AD. There are also several other writings from before 150AD and 200AD with interesting content regarding theology, sacraments, organisation, authority and responsibility. The Western Roman church did not split from the Greek Eastern Orthodox church in Constantinople until the 11th century. So if you have an anti-catholic standpoint you can pick that date as well or one of the many councils and synods held between the one in Nicea and the great schism in the 11th century.
