I didnt attend WSU, (CWU Alum) but I am a life long resident of Washington state. Yes, this is a hard earned reward to the Coug faithful, however this was something all of Washington could/should be proud of. The nation is slowly cranking their necks up to the Pacific Northwest. They are starting to see that even though we live way out in the middle of nowhere, our sports fans and programs are anything but rural.
It absolutely was. I was there in the crowd and the place was absolutely ROCKING. It was just a huge moment of realizing that we finally made it to the national stage. Coug fans are a different breed.
This is a great showing and Coug fans definitely love their team. But every single stadium in the SEC is bigger than Martin. Even Vanderbilt’s by about 8,000. College football is culture in the south. In WA it’s a tune up day before the Seahawks. Apples/Oranges.
@@ajgree6 How is stadium size relevant to my comment? Yes, generally the culture is stronger down south, but that still only equates to one or two elite teams. The rest of the SEC is terrible compared to the PAC-12 and other conferences.
@@SharksSJ408 Because it means more and there’s more success in the SEC. You can minimize it to “only a few elite teams” but I must’ve missed all those “Pac 12” teams that won titles the past 18 years. Anyway, it’s not even a conference anymore because it’s second rate.
