Totally. That was as clutch as you can get. Amazing. 7th inning felt like "oh no, here we go" but Matzek excelled with flying colors.
Guys like that are underappreciated. Think Affeldt for those Giants teams that won three times. They come in, put out fires...and can give you 4-6 outs just about every day. During a deep playoff run in the modern game, you need at least one guy like this.

I gave him the nickname Crackin Jackson years ago because EVERY SINGLE TIME I have ever seen him take the mound he cracks under the pressure and fucks everything up for us.
For the Braves no doubt, but you need at least one of these moments to go all the way. Many pitchers have done it before and will do it after. If matzek keeps up through a WS win we can talk about league wide.

Not league wide and literally all of Braves country thought the lead was gone with 2nd and 3rd no outs one run in already. What he did was INSANE not allowing contact in the 7th and having an 11 pitch 8th. The Dodgers looked defeated after that 7th and matzek is the man responsible. Pay your respects bitch

Matzek is my MVP for the entire playoffs. Joc, Rosario, and Soler each carried the Braves offensively in each round, but Matzek was clutch the entire postseason.
Between Rosario’s 3 Run Jack and Matzek’s Clutch 3 Strikeouts in a troublesome 7th, I don’t which moment won this game for the Atlanta Braves.

I've barely paid attention to baseball in recent years, but after seeing the numbers Rosario put up as recently as 2019 it's hard to believe that the Braves were able to pick him up as a salary dump. He was as locked in and hit more balls on the nose in this series as anybody I've ever seen over multiple games.

I have waited damn near my entire life for this moment, I grew up in Little League always a Bravo, I knew Glavine, I knew Smoltz, I cherished the Jones's. I saw the torch handed off to Snit and Freddie but I have never seen a team that has had more purpose and hunger that this team. As a Mobilian, I feel like I can say that Hank is beyond proud of you guys. He has been an Angel in your outfield and you guys will bring this WS back home for him.

Dodgers didn't have the MVP of the first half of the season 36 Bombs Max Muncy, Justin Turner wasn't healthy and the Dodgers would had 6 legitimate starting pitcher's. Got home from work and saw the last inning!!! I'm so excited for my BRAVES!!!! GOONG TO THE WORLD SERIES! Was working downtown Atlanta in 1995 when Braves won World Series that year and we all came out of our building and saw the Braves Parade go thru downtown. Can't wait to do it again this year. Funniest part about the Eddie Rosario three-run blast was Joe Simpson on the radio broadcast saying "Who is Eddie Rosario and where the hell did he come from?" Dude absolutely went off this series. And it only took us trading Pablo Sandoval. Eddie Rosario is a bad man. Trevor plouffe even said he's just built different
For my money the most electrifying moment though was 7th Inning Matzek. Bar none. Absolutely boss stuff. Generally can't stand Ron Darling but he delivered one of the best lines when he said, "Tyler Matzek...from electrician to LEGEND!"
What's crazy is that the end of this entire postseason Will Smith almost quietly put together arguably the greatest postseason run of a closer. Didn't give up a single run and as far as trackable metrics actually put up better numbers than Mariano in 98 or 99. Even got his revenge on the Dodgers Will Smith with one strike out against him in the series to make up for the bomb last year he gave up. He exercised a lot of demons and silenced a lot of doubters this postseason.
Glad the Braves were able to avenge their loss to the Dodgers last year.

I’ve been a Dodgers fan since 1959. Congratulations to the Braves because they played a great all around series and their victory is well deserved. For the Dodgers, our starting pitchers underperformed, the offence was Jekyll and Hyde from game to game and the key injuries to Muncy, Kershaw and Justin Turner proved too much to overcome. I was mostly disappointed in Trea Turner who had a dismal postseason after winning the NL batting title. I’m a National League guy so I’ll be pulling for the Braves to win the WS. Baseball is the best.

I find this loss really painful as a Dodger fan for a multitude of reasons.

2. This MAY be the end of the Dodgers dominance in the NL West. They have a boat load of talent on the free agent market. Seager, Taylor, Scherzer, Knebel, Jansen, Kershaw. I have a bad feeling LA will be in for a retooling period.

I'm a St. Louis Cardinals fan so not biased seeing these highlights. Atlanta should have been playing the Wild Thing music from the movie Major League as Tyler Matzek walked out to the mound. In the 7th inning the Dodgers scoring and making it 4-2 with runners on second and third with no outs. Tyler Matzerk then came in and blew away the Dodgers. The difference between winning and losing the game.

Soler had a pinch hit double, Duvall had a great play on defense in LA robbing a hr and hit one and Joc with his 2 run homer off Scherzer in game 2 and ohhh Eddie we all know what he did!! AA should be gm of the year maybe the decade because we traded little to nothing to get these players.
