@Supreme Architect, im always interested in the english post match interviews and you are the only channel that provides them right after the matches. Thanks!
Tedesco should never have started with 2 defending midfielders against Slovakia. This game proved that previous lineup was a mistake, credit to him for correcting it in this game. Not talked about in this show: Tedesco has a problem in defense: Meunier and Witsel injured (even before the first game), now Theate out. He only called up 24 fit players (Wistel and Meunier not being fit) and refused to swap them for other players. If Belgium gets knocked out or another defender gets injured (Vertonghen just returned from injury, started the tournament injured) - he'll have a lot of questions to answer. Last game Carasco was playing left back, this game Castagne had to play against his foot on left back after Theate's injury. All problems Tedesco created on his own.
Thing is, he has an actual natural LB in his selection ( De Cuyper ) who was amazing during the last 2 friendlies before the Euro started...Hopefully he gets to play soon.
@@deandoesstuff3371 I can only guess why Tedesco is not starting Decuyper but I'm assuming he's too offensive minded to be played on the same wing with Doku who isn't exactly great at defending either.
Romania got too confident & had a high line, a lot of Belgium's attacks & goals were coming from that. It was like Spursy Ange high line, the midfielders were too high up to press, total opposite to the Ukraine game where Romania defended with the whole team. Either the manager got too cocky or the players were too confident, losing sight they are underdogs.
@@lasersnake De Bruyne goal was from a goal kick as Romanian's defensive line was high. Lukaku goal which was barely offside was because of high line & few of the other biggest chances was because of that. When Romania were defending deep, there was not a lot of clear chances as the ones that were caused by high lines. Romania also invested too much in pressing high. I think against this Belgium, defend deep & tire out De Bruyne & etc, hit counter & at the end of the game press high.
@@decode3667 actually the manager Romania said that the team getting dragged into that play on counters was not part of the plan. As a Romanian was one of my fears, we top the qualifiers by playing like Romania, we beat Ukraine by playing like Romania. Today we were trying to play like Belgium. We still did a decent game and we put some pressure on Belgium, and I think that they probably wanted to see if they can play the same kind of game and not be always on the defensive with low possession as usually. I can't fault them for that, they are the players and they want to challenge themselves. I am still happy with how they played.
@@lasersnake He is right. I am from Romania and Romania never played so open like this. Big mistake. If Tedesco messed up Belgium tactics in the first game with Slovakia, now was turn for Iordanescu Jr. to completely miscalculate the possibilities of Romania and leave us completely exposed. First he messed up the team by replacing Coman who was helping Bancu on the left side of defense, with Mihaila who never come to help the defense. Mihaila also never did anything in the attack, just wasted opportunity after opportunity. From Bancu mistake Belgium scored the first goal. And second, he just tried to push the team to the attack and pressing knowing that this will leave even more space to Belgium to score even more goals on counterattacks. A total fiasco. Belgium is very good team already but if you messed up even the tactical plan then you will be a 100% victim! This is 100% on Iordanescu. Maybe he did a test to see how Romania will play attacking if they meet a better opponent in the in the round of 16th. Now he knows. Total fiasco. Romania don't have yet the quality of the players to play like Belgium! Or Netherlands. So he needs to park the buss and counterattack when he has the opportunity. There is no way around it with the players quality that Romania has today.
@@adrianstere i disagree. If Romania would have parked the bus and loose everyone would have said that the tactics were messed, that Belgium is a different team than Ukraine and you have to play more offensive. I think they tried to see what they can do, and while I was not a fan of the 4-1-4-1, I think a 4-4-2 would have been better for this style of game, I still think they did good, they challenged themselves, they saw where they are lacking and will try to improve themselves from there. Playing defensively is very energy consuming and we could have still gotten 2 goals. I think they played well, except our left flank which is a bit under the level of the right flank. The Belgian manager knew that and exploited it as a good manager should. Overall we did a good game.
