Honestly, I fear bears more than all the bosses in Elden Ring. They attack like crazy, feel like no delay, very long range, and i can't even see anything when panic roll around. This clip, they fight on a very wide area, imagine u stuck with that bear in a cave, such a nightmare.

its also amazing when he just perma combos you he knocks you down, you cant move for 3 seconds, then he does the exact same move again. its the double paw swipe. he missed the first, and klnocks you with the second, always catching rolls. its literally an IMPOSSIBLE fight if he feels like it

When you panic roll away from the bear, you're rolling into its attack range. You want to stay close to its hind legs and belly. When it stands up for a ground pound or a bear hug, you want to be by one of its butt cheeks. Imagine you're trying to steal a Marlboro out of its back pockets when it's going for the hug. When it runs away and then charges, try and roll into its pants pockets. That'll put you right under its belly, where it cannot hit you. And practice fighting large bears in Limgrave where they are weakest. The one scratching the tree, although deadly to a low level player, is pretty much how any Rune Bear will fight. For fun and more practice, lure him over to the sleeping bear, for some tag team action. Enjoy.
Thx, i agree, if you actually try to study their moveset and if you practice, they are managable, but why whould you even want to do that ? They are not great farming, they don't drop anything interesting, they are fairly unimportant monster in the game which every guide on youtube says just ignore... that's why they are stupid. And I actually try to practice fighting them, their moveset is very andvanced, I would say most boss klass enemies have easier one to deal with. They have fast attacks, delayed attacks, fast charge attack, they do a lot of DMG in comparison (ones in snowfield two shot 60 vigor character no problem).
@@zbogi5 One reason us to be prepared for a certain mimic tear user. If you can handle the tree scratcher, then the mimic tear will be survivable as a low level player.

You want to broaden your skills with i framing and timings and creatures you struggle with are the best way to do that. As with all things in life you learn very little from what you do well, but a lot from what you're weak at.
These are some of the absolute worst enemies to fight as a mage. I've only managed to kill one with my LV130 astrologer, meanwhile my level 50ish Hero has killed 4. They just rush you down with no mercy

These things are stuff of nightmares. I avoid them whenever i can. They're insanely (and unnaturally) fast for an animal of that size. The way they move around they cover large distances in a blink of an eye, like they have no weight.
The snowfield bears are the strongest of them all. Some hacker pitted one of them against all the bosses. You wanna know how terrifying this bear is? It beat most of the bosses it was pitted against!
Looked up “Runebears Elden Ring” due to a rune bear in a cave in Caelid. It took me 2 days to beat it bc I’m too stubborn, and thought it would drop loot. I got 6k runes and beast blood I never cried like I did that day.
Lobsters are kittens compared to these guys because they’re slow turning and they don’t charge. That’s why the open world bears are worst. They charge to plow you, while there’s a distance gap after, they will roar blast, then charge again. When you’re low on stam that’s when the mauling starts. As if that isn’t bad enough they have God like poise. I have never been able to stagger these assholes.
I fought the Runebear Boss with a Broadsword. It wasn't pleasant, but once you get their moves down - gg. Which basically counts for the whole game, since you can beat it staying a lvl 1 wretch. But surely, the Runebears and pustule Tree Spirits were my first real headache enemies.

The tree spirits used to scare me like the runebears. Then I learned you can just use a shield and wail on them at close range and they can't really hurt you.
i agre that my rolling isn't best, but those bears are unballaced ass hell, like many other non-boss enemies, even it you roll thru, the timings are very tight, you miss you loose half of the health ... and agresivnes and attack patern is so F Uped, that you have almost no time for your own atacks, especially if you have a slower weapon, which there are many many many (like 90%)
Tbh Runebears are more like "if Vordt was a normal enemy" but attacking more often. Not really hard, just watch out for not overdoing when you get an opening, as aside from when the Runebear is doing the grab or rush attack you can literally stand to the side, behind or even under the Runebear and it will not hit you, same strategy as with Vordt where you have to watch out his rush attack, Runebears have the grab but is easy to identify as the bear will stand up tall with "arms" wide open. Stay close to the Runebear, not far.

I consider this enemy a "skill-check" by FromSoftware to make sure players are paying attention. Just like Malenia. I am LVL200 NG+ knight build, Longsword, brass shield, fire ashes ...etc and Runebears don't scare me at all. In fact I farm them regularly for runes (if I need a little change to level up before doing something dangerous) and Yes that includes the ones in Caelid and Snowfield
I'm new to the game, I was exploring the land when one of these guys literally spawned in front of me after killing a random enemy, it kinda looked like those dark souls 3 pus of man enemies that burst out after you attack them. It chased me for like 2 minutes.
Just use a shield to hlock hard attacks and dodge into their attacks lmao. They were hard at first but now they feel easy-low moderate at best once you git gud.
Rune bears are tough but they do teach one thing, roll towards the enemy, you can't get hit if you are literally right behind or below them, until they use a big ass AOE attack and you get hit.

In addition they don't give you good loot or big amounts of runes. Which is even more procrastinative. I fought with these mfers like a wizard, and a light warrior, on lvls 30 and 130. It doesn't matter , they kick my ass numerous times. Fucking hate bears
