We have a lot of magpies visit our garden. I made sure to get boxes that have those metal plates around the holes just to make sure they are super safe.
TH-cam helps us slow down and watch the bird grow up…lol Things we see daily… like picking oranges on my orange tree and coming across a abandoned nest! Thanks for this daily video:)
isnt it kinda cool to see how the young birds have very yellow beaks to serve as visual indicator to trigger the parents urge to feed the child. and when the bird gets older its beak loses that very noticeable yellow color around its beak. the yellow color is almost like a signal that tells the parents: "Feed Here" and once the bird gets old enough to feed themselves this yellow color is no longer needed. hmm
That's why I'm pretty sure that these two will die shortly after fledging since they spend a day or two hopping around on the ground before they fly. Just look at all the cat, starling, and magpie attacks.
@@kingexplosionmurderfuckoff9376 You can’t protect nature from nature. I just hope that if it does happen it’s not someone’s stupid ass cat that’s just going to kill it for fun.
Considering how people couldn't handle a dead hatchling inside the box idk how well they'd handle seeing them picked off by a predator. Just look at all the attacks they had on the box. These are the most persistent predators I've ever seen. They spend 1-2 days hopping on the ground after fledging. They'll likely be killed in that time.
Where did you buy the camera set up? I'm in the UK as well and have blue tits nesting in a box outside the kitchen window. I'd like to get a camera set up for next year......
We started with 8 and over time the nature has taken it’s course and two have made it this far. They’re more than likely the two which hatched first. It’s fairly normal for only two to fledge from a clutch and add to that the unusually cold weather for the last few weeks.
@@nestboxcam-loughborough This is not at all normal 2 out of 8. On the "Les Faucons Crécerelles de Théding" channel, blue tits brought 10 out of 11 out of the nest. This is the norm.

"Why is the hole so small lol"
1 minute later: *sees giant beaks* oh...
Yeah that scared 😨me
Ha I thought it was a horror movie when that part happened then realized the black bird couldn't fit 🤣
LOL
Now we know why the small hole🌹🌼

Imagine being the tiny birds and seeing that gigantic beak 😨
That's what she said 😆
Just imagine a monster truck and a human next together
Is like seeing an alien on Mars planet 😂
The claps when they left the nest each time is so proud and sweet ❤️
Man, bigger birds try to eat then so often that I'm surprised these things could even survive before people put up these boxes for them to nest in.

I remark at the end of this video parent disregarded feeding the chick jumping out of nest. Strong rules of birds
Usually it’s the aggressive chick who gets fed first. Sort of surprised.
@@stillhere1425 They won't feed the chicks unless they're in the cup of the nest, basically

why is there a grey bar in the bottom left corner?
Because apparently some adults can't handle the death of a bird.
@@officebear4637 children might be watching the video, and yeah some adults can't see corpses what's the big deal ?

How did he died
If the bird house wasn't slanted like that, the little guy would not have been able to wander up into that area and get stuck !
Mom bird works very hard
good the hole is small! 😱
So one guy dead in corner, 2 in nest what happened to other2? When did the parents removed it
One choked on a centipede and mother removed it days ago. The other one got stuck in the corner and died hence the grey box in the corner.
@@skelefool7781 there were a total of 5 chicks?

8 chicks if you go back to the older videos
There were 8.
Is the gray box there to hide a dead chick? Was curious
Yes
Oh this is fantastic to see the babies.
So out of 6 only 2 lived??
Did all chicks survive? I think they were four initially.
They are so cute in there lil home
That was Great! Thanks!
10:39 What is that thing that the parent takes out from the chick?? It looks like a worm!
I've read in other video comments it is a fecal sac...makes sense , otherwise their nest would be impossible to keep clean
I wonder why this channel doesn’t have much subs well I going to try slowly change that (:
Stranger danger.
So what happened to chick #3?
Looking Good...😃👍
What kind of bird was that that was attacking the bird house?
Starling
A bird
They must burrow in the extra space
I they always hide into the nest hole when they sure the magpie just as the mother did for the first time
White finaly they are just 2? Where are anothers?
Notice the blur on the below right corner ?
@@khayzam1860 NOO I DIDNT EVEN THINK ABOUT THAT-
Did that 3rd chick die?? Is that why there’s a grayed out area in the corner?? 😱
Yes.
Do they never drink water?
I believe the water content in the food the parents bring is sufficient for them
Ah....pensei que a abertura podia ser um pouco maior....ah....entendi com seu vídeo....afastar predadores...
Poor other bird is stuck inside from his bro ontop
How long ago did they hatch?
