If you are a couple looking for a capable shaft drive diesel cruiser to spend the summer aboard then look seriously at this Nimbus 305. This is an all weather style of boat that will do a good distance at 14kts speed and keep you comfortable in most conditions. I could imagine myself spending the Swedish Midsommar exploring the islands around Stockholm on this boat and then cruising it all the way to France via the English Channel or the French Canal route to spend the next season in the Med. I could also see this as an amazing boat to cruise the Pacific North West up to Alaska, imagine that! You really could happily live aboard a boat like this as a couple especially, and for less time if you are dragging around a few kids.

Join me for this test drive around Queenstown in New Zealand which was filmed in the middle of winter back in June. On this day we were getting considerable wind gusts and changes of direction which made it challenging for me to fly the drone but with the diesel heater and windscreen wipers going we were comfortable as onboard the Nimbus.
    Enjoy,
    Dan Jones

Some manufacturers seem to excel in one type of boat design while unable to excel to the same degree in another type. Nimbus seems to get it about right across the board. Their '9' and '11' series perform impressively, yet their 'liveaboard' functions shine as well. It seems this cleverness carries over to this cabin class equally. Impressive.

And I meant to add: Excellent tutorial on berthing.

Agree Jack! Nimbus in my mind is one of the top builders in Europe. A lot of clever ideas mixed with build quality that is on the same level as the Americans

Very informative as always. Have you ever tested the Sargo 36 Fly ? Thanks.

Check out the C11 with outboards… I’m filming it soon actually but already tested their inboard version. Also smaller models available

A 30 foot boat should have twin straight 4 cylinder with bravo 2 Conrad drives for economy and speed

Each to their own but I know in Australia people would not want a sterndrive as we boat 12 months per year and leaving drives in the water is expensive. I do appreciate the performance however.

Can this boat use a trailer

Not in my country (Australia) but I see a lot of big boats in the US on trailers so maybe over there? But generally I would say no it's definately not trailerable.
