In today's mario video we are going to look at the origin, secrets, timeline, story, lore, mysteries and history of the bosses seen in the #supermario games made by nintendo. Throughout the years there have been a lot mario games like super mario world, super mario 64, super mario sunshine, new super mario bros, new super mario galaxy, super mario 3d land, super mario 3d world, super mario run, super mario bros 3 and not too long ago they released the new super Mario odyssey for the nintendo switch which has all kinds of new characters like cappy and locations like the sand kingdom, new donk city and bowsers kingdom. In these games we have seen power ups like the fire flower, ice flower, super mushroom, mega mushroom, super star, hammer suit, spring mushroom and way more. But there were power ups that helped mario, luigi, toad, princess peach, rosalina and the others to escape bowser, the broodals, koopalings and bowser jr. This game probably would've been on the same level as Super Princess Peach, being that weird game in the series that nobody talks about, yet you'll find out how cool it is when you do sit down to play it.

Something I’ve always noticed in Mario Odyssey is that the game doesn’t feature Boos at all. And yet, it still has that capture idea from this Boo game. Another thing I want to point out is that another Kirby game for the DS has a capture mechanic similar to Mario Odyssey. It was the Ghost copy ability from Kirby Squeak Squad. Oddly enough, that game came out in 2006, which was the year when this whole Boo game idea took place.
Bring this game back and don’t make it too spooky
This game seems to be a Luigi's Mansion prequel, as the Boo had a crown that resembles King Boo's. It was probably his origin story.

This was interesting. Boo deserves his own game!
Some of the structures look like they could've been used for a later installment of Luigi's mansion. It kind of reminds me of something I've seen before despite never having played the franchise. Also please keep making these videos, they're a nice end to my day when I have a moment to relax.
I think this would have been a King Boo origin story. The player would have controlled a young King Boo. This could explain why the Professor Boo with the crown can be seen placing the crown on the young Boo in the concept art. King Boo is one of my favourite Mario characters, it's truly a shame this was scrapped.

awwh it was a shame this game never got made, boos are a popular enemy in the mario franchise and a spin of game with them could have worked and the concept art had some really cool ideas as well
Every single time there is a nintendo direct i hope to see a release of this game on the switch, like not the same gameplay but idea as boo being the main character. Btw great video

I honestly wish there was a Mario spin off series with a boo as protagonist since the closest thing we got was my beloved hauntingly beautiful spirit of my heart lady bow from paper Mario 64 and her only other appearance was in postgame of the thousand year door then as a bunch of cameos in super paper Mario yet I still find her to be the only ghost I’d allow to haunt my dreams just as she haunts my heart anyway I’d like to see a Mario spin off game with a boo as the protagonist and not just a villain I would definitely play it (especially if some miracle lady bow happened to be in it) (also yes I have a crush on lady bow and I’m not ashamed to admit it so sue me if you see something wrong with it if not then leave me be)

Kinda scares me how much Retro concept artists leak stuff like this. It’s cool to see but I’m worried it might sour relations between Retro and Nintendo. Eh maybe they’ll just get stronger NDAs or something.

Aww maaaan. Really?? Damn!... Ghosts are my thing.. And so is Nintendo. The fact that this Boo game never saw the light of day even after all this concept art was worked on is SUPER DISAPPOINTING 😖 Here's to hoping Boo will eventually get to star in his very own adventure some day 👻👻

Broomies could do with a revisit. Say Odyssey 2 does feature that Haunted Kingdom I mentioned a while back. Could be set during some Boo-Broomie war.
Here's my idea for a Broomie revisit. Picture the scene: Per Bowser's orders, Larry kidnaps King Boo and Queen Broomie for Bowser's reality-warping plan, causing their underlings to run amuck through Lady Boo's territory. Though little does Bowser know Larry secretly plans to enslave King Boo with his new wand, crafted from one of the thirteen Necromancy Orbs, and usurp the Koopa throne himself, tired of always being unappreciated due to being the youngest.
To combat Larry's mischief, a group of nice Broomies called the Broomie Buddies give Mario and Cappy insight into the kingdom's perils and monsters, also providing a capturable light source called a Bulber to light the way, as sections are blocked by the Shadow Boos, a new variation encountered in large concentrations, that slowly overpower light sources as Mario traverses an area. Eventually, the heroes confront Larry atop the Midnight Citadel, and a battle ensures, with Larry's spooky powers including summoning zombie versions of regular enemies, shooting Boo Bombs at Mario and creating bone shields to protect himself. When he takes King Boo's full power to become the massive King Boopa, the Broomies use their magic to enlarge Mario in order to stop him. In the end, Larry is defeated and left at the mercy of a vengeful King Boo, while the Broomies and Boo Buddies retake the lands, allowing Mario to revisit anytime.
