I really love the Anime but trust me on this, the Light-novel does this MORE JUSTICE! Ayanokoji is all cold and emotionless in the anime which doesn’t give him his true depth. The novel does it best and truly gives characters the depth they deserve and the anime skipped some things too, it feels like I’m reading a completely different story.
Novels in general can go into great lengths exploring backstories and internal monologues. There's a limit on how much of that can be done in a TV series.

It's more like an Elite school for Elite's to send their kids to. ie. Bankers, Billionaires, Prestigious families, Politicians, Mafia orgs, Old Money. It's a school for supervillains. Nothing about the premise really makes sense if you think there's benevolence or altruism. It defeats the purpose of having a school if you have people bought off with money and violence, and won't punish children because their parents are vindictive. i.e. Rich People with Rich People Problems. There are also a few other 'evil school children' stories on a similar vein, ie Charlotte or Talentless Nana. Most Private Schools are a little bit like this, the concept is a selective High School, for people with Money and political power. There are schools like this, but they often downplay wealth and security, because they want to have a slice of normal life. The silly premise of this being independent, while also having the school run a Shopping Centre with Franchise, taking over a cruise liner, etc. No. The premise kind of only works if youy have a strange world full of psychopaths and criminals (which isn't too unbelievable), but who would also gather together money and funds to build a billion dollar school. "The Government" wouldn't do this. Sociopaths would definitely pit their children against each other for rewards as a 'flexibility' test for developing villains. They would also develop the points system as a guard rail for money and power. Especially the inherent tracking and manipulation of people required to game/gain relationships.

I'm a very big fan of the series, and if you go to the Novels it's many times more complex, in fact even smart people usually have to read the Volumes 3+ times to understand it fully, since there's also a lot to analyse and actual cleverly hidden plots. Aside from that the amount of pages for each Volume is massive and there's many Volumes too. Basically it's a massive and complex story with a lot to offer. I'd very much recommend to read the Light Novel as it's also a bit different from the anime but in a good way (although the beginning may be boring for some, it's very needed to develop the story further and the story only gets better and better). Currently I'm reading a lot of Novels and this one is still my favourite.
