I love my T50 frame set and built it up with components taken from previous builds of home made recumbents. My rear hub motor setup gets about the same range 10Wh-20Wh per mile when assisting in the same way as the review, mainly for starting and hill assist. I find myself choosing to pedal 99% of the time despite an ankle injury. My cycle display shows my average unassisted speed is a modest ~13-17mph and assisted average speed is ~15-22mph which is easily 30-40% faster than on regular cheap bikes. On hills I always slow down to 10-12mph so that my motor's display shows 200-300W assist power draw to extend battery range. Cruzbike FWD recumbents are the way to go faster!

What about hills? Currently own a Bachetta Strada... looking to upgrade components or get a new bike.
Was told a cruzbike does better on hills than a rear drive recumbent.
Where can can I test ride?
I’m 50 miles from Louisville KY and about 50 miles from Cincinnati OH

Rusty, I recommend our web forum or emailing [e-mail] for test rides. Dealers can be found at the bottom of our webpage, but none in KY (yet). Hills are no problem for the T50e and Cruzbikes overall are very good climbers compared to many other recumbents. On a FWD all the power goes to the ground. On a T50e you have all wheel drive.
