    Thanks, Brian, this was very helpful. One question - you mentioned in a previous video that the resin sometimes pulls away from the edge and you have to do a second coat. Do you sand that first layer or do anything else to prep it?

    Great video!! When I mix resin, I put the part A in the measuring cup and then part B into the same cup then mix. Is there a reason to put parts A and B in separate cups and then into another cup?

    • @Studio15Acrylics
      @Studio15Acrylics 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Because most resins are measured 1:1 by volume and not by weight. I've been doing this long enough that I usually do it the way you stated but For the video I I wanted to show how to ensure you're measurements were accurate.

    • @RosePatakyArt
      @RosePatakyArt 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Studio15Acrylics but if the measurement markings on the first cup are accurate, exact amounts of each can be put into just the 1 cup…..right? I’m not trying to be a jerk or anything, I was just curious as to why you did it that way. I’ve been doing resin a long time too and actually like just using the 1 cup. I used to pour into 2 solo cups and eyeball it when I first started. Most of the time it worked but sometimes it was funky! 😂

    Sorry to,be a bother but can you tell me how you calculate the amount of resin you need for size of canvas. From this video it looks as if you have gone for medium to thin consistency so I would divide square inch of canvas by 26 to calculate fluid oz (UK) needed. For any other UK followers the company you use has a basis in UK and the resin is on special offer with free delivery over £30. Guess what - I bought some!

    I used Let’s Resin on my canvas. After 12 hours, my resin is like rubber. The sides are not smooth at all, very bumpy and the edges have pulled out. What do I do.? I am tempted to sand the sides and the edges and pour another coat of resin. Please advise . Thank you for your time. I really appreciate your feedback.

    • @Studio15Acrylics
      @Studio15Acrylics 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Can you tell me your process? Did you measure out your resin and mix it 1 to 1? During your mixing of part A and B together, did you stir and scrape the sides of the container you put the 2 parts in? After you painted your canvas, how long did you wait before applying resin? 12 hours of dry time, yes the resin will be like resin. It's still actually drying. How do you apply your resin?

    Why don’t you pour them into one cup? Then mix them?

    • @Studio15Acrylics
      @Studio15Acrylics 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Lori, while it certainly can be done that way and I do quite often, this was a tutorial. Resin is measured out by volume and not weight. Most resins are mixed 1:1. With resin, very close measurements are best so that the hardness is achieved as well dry time. If not mixed properly using the correct volume could cause slower dry times, remaining sticky because not drying properly or at all.

Your tutorial was really clear and informative and can see the advantage of using resin when you want shiny surface on painting rather rather than gloss varnish which needs three coats. Just one more question if you don’t mind - is there an advantage in using epoxy resin rather than the coating resin also available from letsresin?
