My grandpa was a medic , with a capt.s rank in the US of As 82nd A/B Division 508 PIR , and fought all through DDAY ,Normandy France , "Operation Market Garden " Holland ( screwed up over achieving , near disaster plan by Field Marshall General Bernard Montgomery to curtail WW2 in ETO ) , and grandpa being wounded in the Ardennes ( MTN/ Forrest) " Battle of The Bulge"!

Pretty cool. I used to be a Paratrooper in A co. 1/508th PIR in Panama 1989-90.

Nice impression but the amount of fixed blades/hand weapons is a bit much. Maybe have like 1 of the unique blades on top of your standard impression knives, its too much with more imo

These guys set up a camp near where I live over here in Northern Ireland! Camp Cromore I'm pretty sure is the name. I once went metal detecting there and found a MG ammo box with a coca cola bottle inside of it!

Anyone know anything about the 2nd Airborne Infantry Brigade who commanded the 507 & 508PIR? I have 2 patches with the AB tab attached so i know they're original to 1943-1944 seeing that's the only time when they had Airborne status. The 1958-64 2nd Inf. Brigade was a different unit that used the same patch w/o AB tab. Ive NEVER seen a photo of someone wearing the unit's patch there's next to nothing in regards to information about them & they actually have battle credits campaign streamers for Europe.

The Brigade , I think was sent to NAMs Chu-Lai area around early 3/68 tail end of TET , I which # that time I lost my uncle in Central Highlands of NAM , about 10 days prior to my 11th bday.

Great job. You’re a young guy so I’m giving you this advice and promise it will open doors later on down the road. You use “um” a lot. It’s not quite as noticeable as the horrid habit that many Millennials and Gen Z have of saying “like” six times per sentence but it’s still ubiquitous enough to be considered an impediment. “Um” is a non-word that does not represent your level of intelligence. Just this presentation of kit and your interest in WW2 says a tremendous amount about your IQ and innate thoughtfulness so “um” is a terrible self inflicted disservice. The best way to break the habit is to practice taking a thoughtful pause, a breath -what is termed a “beat” in stagecraft and cinema. You’re using “um” as an audible place holder in order to gather your subsequent thought. Keep in mind, many under-30-year-olds have a tendency to speak extremely fast. Often manic. So don’t worry about said pauses slowing down your utterances.
As a general rule there are five things that make younger Americans sound significantly dumber than they are:
    •usage of “like”
    •uptalk
    •”uh” and “um”
    •vocal fry
    •glottal stops.
Some quite intelligent individuals are stymied by every single one of them and it’s a terrible challenge in environments like: public speaking, interviews, project management, even dates.
Nonetheless this was a great presentation & video. The historical accuracy is almost 100% and that Lucky Strike tin, the knives and your (eh hm) paper weight make me green with envy.
    👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
PS: there are excellent videos on youtube that explain each of the aforementioned poor speech tendencies. Personally I had to tape a piece of paper in front of my eye-line before radio interviews that read “STOP SAYING ‘FOLKS’” (overuse of the term is one of Gen X’s classic issues and can be incredibly annoying to listeners. Just look at the shellacking Obama took over it. Other terms Gen X overuses regularly: “essentially” “basically” “know what I mean?” and “man”
(Deep sigh) None of us are innocent 😂😂
