    The number 300 Ford races hard and comes to the checkered flag with the win. A cold drink and loading it on the open trailer.
    Then later in the year at the same track the result isn’t quite so good with an accident on the back stretch.
    I believe the track may have been either Butner speedway or Jet motor Speedway-both now defunct. It may be Trico speedway. If you can confirm the track or know any of the competitors, please leave a comment below.

    After looking at it again the last part of the film is at Jet Motor Speedway. If you look at it closely it very well may have all three of the tracks represented. The first part is Trico with the front and back gates.

    Trico Motor Speedway. Jet nor Butner never had a back gate. Trico had a back gate as well as one at the end of the front straightaway going into turn one.

    As a little boy I remember Earl driving the 29 Dick’s Drive Inn Chevelle at Butner and Trico Speedway in Late Model Sportsman.
