So you would think that a manufacture would build a six lead tester for these EICRs? Simply hook up all six leads to the ring and it can auto run all the tests at once and give you all the numbers on one simple screen. Seems like a simple idea that I am not sure exists there or not. Could be a huge time saver and could download to one of the EICR software packages.
Gold sockets and switches 🤮 great video as usual Nick and hope you’re recovering well. At least in a way one positive out of the situation is you can hand over some more responsibility to Adam and he will learn even more during this period
you have to do a lot of testing and listing for certificates nowadays nick in my day it was megger continuity test at board a few sockets odd switch for earth checks get a clear reading have a yeb check that was it, how things have changed id have to go back to tech now, i started on 13th edition its very interesting watching you both.g.ood vids .hope yer back gets better mine never did then found out prostate cancer.
I use the TIS daily and I absolutely love it, gets a bit getting used to but it’s an amazing piece of kit. You can do a ‘2 high’ with it, you just need to go into the settings on the bottom of the screen when doing a Ze and change them about, hope this helps 🙂 amazing content!
I'm TN-S but just had solar and a powerwall installed, and as part of that an earth electrode was installed (I presume for if/when the powerwall takes over), thus presumably at a future EICR it'd be checked even though we are primarily using the distributor's earth
You need to push for a MRI scan. I was getting physio, chiro, anything I could do. My physio, I saw when I worked for a firm, told me to go get an MRI as I was not getting better although I didn't present symptoms of a ruptured disc. But I had properly popped my disc. The only med that took the pain away was Gabapentin. A year later I eased off the meds and all back to normal now, a few more years on.
If you look in gn3 (the on site site guide I have has made a hash of it) the maximum figures recorded on the form are the figures from the regs book. For determining if the measured values are within spec use the 80% figures. For the ring end to end r2 value from the r1, this the ratio of the r1 conductor size to the r2 size, for 2.5/1.5 = 1.667
There are exercises to fix your back. Upwards dog and hang from something. I throw my back out too and it does help. Athlete X on you tube has a video on it.
Nick re your back I use a weight lifting belt when my back goes after a day or two virtually goes away it helps supporting the back a stops you twisting awkwardly
Great video and interesting tester.... Clipboard / pen on site for me. Electraform once back home, been using it for 2 years now, mainly as it's only £1 a certificate. Fairly happy with it, only complaint is too many pieces of paper in final document. (Not a fan of Napit Mobile) btw easy way to remember 1.66 is to think about the conductor sizes and do 2.5 divided by 1.5. I thought 80% figure was to take into account conductors heating up.
Hope you're healing well buddy. Quick one, fire rating on spot lights is part of the building regs, not electrical, not coded, but can be put as a note. And easycert is beast
Hi Nick In the settings of easicert you can alter it to put 80% figures in max earth loop allowed but of course it should be what the heading of the column says.
You can try use Boots TENS Digital Pain Relief , because tablets after couple week non effective. This kind device use athlets and dancers who coop with everyday sport traumas. I'm use this and another OMRON device for many years, after car crush. I'm find this and direct spine injection effective to reduce inflammation and pain.
Enjoy the tester, it’s a great bit of kit and I prefer it over the Megger testers. I have put a little package in the post that I find useful for the leads.
It's really good tester i bought it from dave's recommendations about year ago.. The only thing i would say , it should have auto test when you connect probes.. it's difficult to manage 3 probes and press button sometimes
Nick PLEASE bite the bullet and find a good Chiropractor, I suffer with damaged L4 & L5 for years and the Chiropractor is worth every penny Ive paid over the years.
Nothing worse than a bad back no one knows what its like, I put mine out, ripped a muscle, 40 years ago it never goes away but I found a Chiropracter who managed to repair it and it lasts for 10 years or more if you take care. (Lambs in Pinner they are brilliant)
The TIS isn’t a bad tester but you just can’t beat the Megger. Not only for speed but ease of use, no messing around and going through different menus.
I work for a nic registered company and its my job as a foremen to test medium and large jobs and if I see anything I am not happy with who ever it was goes back in his own time, yes they have gone down hill ,but we do get a lot of work from companies that insist you are nic registered ,but obviously for one man bands nappits ideal 👍
me too joe, im sick of testing other folks shit work, my biggest gripe is back to back sockets on different circuits, i dont know how they manage but it seems like they do it on purpose now, common sense is so uncommon these days
@@electrician247 fluke have come up with their EV tester here in the USA similar to their amprobe version used in Europe. Got mine on order but it’s delayed.

Hi Nick
In the settings of easicert you can alter it to put 80% figures in max earth loop allowed but of course it should be what the heading of the column says.
David Savery recommends Eneloop batteries in the TIS tester, not Duracell or Energizer.

As long as you put it on the certificate the%of what you have tested then fine, also if there's a circuit you can not find do the same
Chromebook in a tough case with megger certsuite (formally vespula). Can't fault it very customisable.

Well to be fair out of the apprentices from the YT gang he’s definitely the better one out of the three.
Been trained well and good attitude.
I agree but he is a little bit further ahead than the others , my bet is on Reuben being the next best Adam 😆

These guys done my rewire, Adam never stopped grafting and keeping me updated on what he was doing. Its nice that its not all for show on TH-cam

Awesome gesture, had one a while ago and thought it was crap so went back to megger
