    Great video and great speakers! The ts308 really is small wonder! I have several Alto TS3 series speakers and have never found the "contour" function to be a net positive on the sound quality. I use these with a dbx driverack with a rta mic and after room correction and a little eq work, they sound exquisite!

    The problem for the noise you heard is the ground in your plug( 3) use adapter With no ground(2) you will not hear the ground

    Some of us actually play instruments and sing through speakers! Not everyone’s a dj

    Yes they are a nice cab. One of my inputs stops working with hardly any use and I can't get the part so not worth buying

    Just bought a TX308 - there’s ZEROOOOO bass. So disappointed in this speaker. It’s definitely loud but sounds like it’s in a tin can. I hooked it up directly from my Dj mixer to the speaker and it sounded horrible. Any suggestions?

    hi, I would be undecided whether to buy the ts 308 or the tx 308 combined with the sub tx212s. I would need it for a home environment.I could give you some advice thanks

    Do You recommend them for live music in small rooms and as monitors??????????

      No.. they wouldn't be able to really give you want you need sound wise.

    I’m looking at the as monitors for a band. Will the work or should I look at something more?

      My band used 8" but ended up upgraded to 10. Much better and we can use em by themselves for rehearsal.

    Hi, trying to make my mind up about buying these or the QSC CP8 which are almost double the price.
    Will be using them for background music in weddings cocktail hour and maybe outdoor wedding dinners with about 100-140 people for background music and speaches.
    Do you think it will be enough with the TS308´s or spend almost the double for the QSC CP8?? Many thanks!

    6:00 you said they don't have a crossover. Not true. They have a "precision active crossover". Check the description. Even the cheaper TX308 has an active crossover.

    Can I connect the Bluetooth device at the back of the speaker

    Good job, thank you. Not a DJ but a singer songwriter. I don't need thumping bass. Just want something to give more volume on the occasions where I need to make more noise than my LD Systems line array makes. This might be the answer. Ya think?

    I scooped one of these up to pair with a 410 I have since they can be found for around $100 now. Paired with a 12 inch sub it has so far fit all my needs.

    I have one of these used as a monitor with the Stagepas 600 PA system. Our band is a trio and I also solo with this setup. Works for me. These speakers are great and affordable.

    Would you reckon these work well for band practice applications for a 3 piece band? Genre is rock/grunge/punk rock

    Do you get a hissing sound when you have a wireless mic connected and you turn it off? For some reason if I mute my akg wms40 mic it's okay. But as soon as a turn it off I get a very loud continues hissing sound. Any ideas why?

    Alto is a good starter speaker for bands and DJs but once you get established you will want to move up to JBL, RCF, Yamaha, EV or QSC.

      I think that is a very good rule of thumb here!

      Not necessarily!! I have a great Yamaha setup but for a full range compact system for weddings where your be playing in hotels etc then the ts308 tops with the matching ts312s sub has plenty of horsepower, compact and lightweight, decent sound and doesn't break the bank. I still use my Yamaha's for big halls etc but cost not being an issue I found all the details above hard to beat from other manufacturers!! They look smarter than most other cabs as well.

      I don't like the fans on some higher end models. Once the fan breaks, every parts starts to fall apart

      I have a video dropping in the next two days where I took these out to a remote location and showed the volume on my cell phone..while not a perfect test, you can get a bit of an idea of what they sounded like when outside in an open area.

    John, thank you for the information. Now that you've had them for a while how have they held up to pro use?

    • @discjockeynews
      @discjockeynews  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They haven't had any issues.. but, I do have a concern about them being a sealed system and using them hard on a hot day.. .even on regular room temps, they feel warm.. so, using them for smaller events and then for sound reinforcement like seen in yesterday's video.

    Between the Alto TS308 and the QSC K8.2, which are both rated at 2000W:
    - Which do you think has the loudest HF driver?
    I won’t ask for the LF driver, as there is no doubt that the QSC one’s is louder, simply judging by the total weight of the speaker (12,2 kg - 26,85 lbs vs 9,2 kg - 20,25 lbs)

      There is not a lot in it to be honest,I think your paying more for the name than the sound.These ts 308 really kiss ass with my 18 subs

    • @ianwalters6616
      @ianwalters6616 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I listened to both and you are getting a much nicer sound from the QSCs with better separation but output wise there isn't much in it and your going to be using a sub for an evening reception so you can get the 2 308 tops with a 312 sub for around £750 !! Now compare that to the QSC equivalent which is more than twice the amount. I would keep the cabs just under 12 o clock, have a good grasp of gain structure and don't have sudden peaks in the high frequencies and the Altos should last you years.
