Remember the elevators at the Prudential Tower in Downtown Boston? These elevators are Otis high speed traction and had been modernized in 2008.

I've seen plenty of videos of those things; I really want to go there at some point, they seem like nice elevators. I'm surprised they were only modded in 2008; they seem like they've been modded for longer, then again, 2008 seems like yesterday in some ways...

+Gary Beltz It is definitely pretty nice. That's the beauty of Luxury chimes.

    Those have Westinghouse indicators, strange.

+Elevating Denver I still think they're made by OTIS (these were installed in 1997); they seem VERY close to Westinghouse indicators, though. I think the green is a little lighter here, compared to the Westinghouse indicators. Nonetheless, I really like that they decided to create an indicator similar to the older style. I've never seen a Westinghouse indicator like that in person yet, so this was an interesting experience.

***** Wells Fargo Center Denver used to have what I believe was Westinghouse elevators with those indicators.
One thing I find interesting is that many people think the Westinghouse LCD indicators look very old. However, Series 7 indicators are basically the same thing, but everyone thinks they're a new modern thing that is so futuristic. In reality, the Series 7 indicator is no more than a modified Westinghouse LCD.

+Elevating Denver I totally agree; I don't think this is too different from some Series 7 elevators I found in various parts of the complex. I think it's interesting that they're starting to produce indicators in a similar style again.

***** Styles come and go. Elevators and buildings are just like clothing, a whole bunch of buildings that have the exact same style will be built between Year A and Year B. Then someone wants to be unique (or gets tired of seeing identical things everywhere) and builds a building with an older style of architecture and everyone follow in their footsteps making building of that older style. After that, the cycle just repeats until something completely original appears and a new cycle begins. Currently, buildings are getting a new and original design theme (1144 15th street, in Denver is a good example). Elevators however, are just repeating and modifying older or foreign styles now, (for example the Schindler 3300 and Otis Series 7).

+Elevating Denver I do believe that's how these cycles work. Seems like people are now creating things much like the 1980's. Not just some elevator stuff, but certain other things as well, clothing for example, and some music is very 80's-esque. I guess people realize how cool the 1980's can be. I wonder what we will be copying in the future, maybe some 70's stuff.
