Thank you. Using your video my husband managed to fix our water line which had melted against the exhaust and we now have water again without hooking up. We are subscribing
It sure is! Figured I had to do it anyway may aswell film it, may help someone out. Happy new year's mate! Thanks for following along this year! We appreciate it! 🍻
Great little vid mate. I have a question about the High pressure (?) valve that's fitted for when we have mains on. I have a Jayco and they are notoriously rubbish. Can you explain how they work and any ideas on an upgrade? Also, it would be great to explain fitting one way valves in the plumbing system for the shower unit etc to stop water returning up my shower drain when I empty the kitchen or vanity sinks. Thanks in advance. I'm a dumb aircraft sparky Hahaha
Cheers mate! I'm not sure how the jayco system is setup but basically most caravans have a PLV(pressure limiting valve) with a built in check valve at the mains connection to protect the fixtures in the van from high pressures produced by some mains. They are basicaly just a valve that's spring loaded that the mains pressure has to push open to flow through in turn reducing pressure down stream. The built in check valve stops water flowing from ur system back through the valve and to the main. AVG make decent valves never had any issues with them. Are you having issues with ur jayco system? Or just heard there not good? The valves can get debree stuck in them which will make them not work properly. You shouldn't really have water coming up ur drain if it's pumped correctly but you can just buy a Pvc swing check valve and cut it into ur shower waste pipe to stop any back flow from the rest of the system 👌 Hopefully that makes sense! 😂 Cheers mate 👍
great video guys i jus found your channel, ill head to the shop and grab some fittings and spare hose, just wondering if i get a T piece can i put it on my outdoor shower cold line and run a tap from there? i want to add a tap on the outside of the van, i have a similar van to yours corvair 546 offroad been awesome so far thank you also if i can do that which john guest fitting would you recommend to go from the 12mm hose to a tap thank you
Thanks mate, You absolutely can or any other accessible cold line for that matter. What you'll need is 1 x 12mm JG tee 1 x 12mm JG x 15mm bsp lugged elbow 4 x JG locking clips (the red backing clips) 1 x 15mm hose tap 12mm JG pipe And a few pipe clips Hope this helps 👌
@@WhileWereYoung. thanks mate you are a legend this will keep the missus happy having a tap outside, also just wondering do you guys drink from your tanks ? We are a bit skeptic Drinking from the tanks, if so do you recommend a treatment for the tank, or is best to get new tanks, I think they are original tanks, 2005 model
@@newport5504 no dramas at all! 👌 Yeah we drink from the tanks but iv installed a filtered tap on the sink so we filter through that and we also use a hose filter when filling the tanks. Every few months I run "tank clean" through the system to clean them out, and we try to avoid filling any dodgy water into them if we can when we are remote ect. 👌 But yeah they should be fine to drink from! If they havnt had a clean in a while I'd definitely fill them with a water tank cleaner and flush them right out! Cheers mate 🤙
You only need to use pipe inserts if you arnt able to cut the pipe straight and keep it round. 😊 If you are using a sharp stanly knife or proper pex cutters they arnt necessary 👍
Sweet tips Rhys 🙌, please tell Sarah and Lyla hi for me, and hope you all are having a great day 😊🙌
Thanks 😊 and will do! You have a great day too 👌

Don't you use 12mm inserts before inserting into a joint
