While there was beautiful dancing to the foxtrot (& the other dances), the music was VERY west coast swing-y (medium blues) - BUT wcs is all about dancing TO the music and these couples danced their routines with no regard to the hard & soft breaks, tonics/resolves and staccato music (including feet, head, arms & overall body movement/position). I also believe that one's facial expression and hands should reflect the character of the music (in this case: blues), which was ignored. As a "westie" (west coast swing dancer), I found this disconcerting. As long as the competitors adhere to the rules, wouldn't these be enhancements?
