- Students at Danny Jones Middle School received quite the shock when they saw a very familiar face walking down the hallway on Monday. Actress and singer Selena Gomez made a stop at her former school in the late afternoon to say hi to different classrooms and reconnect with past teachers.

That is where she grew up, and the old Purple Dinosaur kids' television show "BARNEY & FRIENDS" was created and produced there and that is where she got her start in acting. ALSO, DEMI LOVATO got her start with BARNEY at the same time as Selena. Also, Selena was on a very popular television show that made a movie-for-television, "WALKER: TEXAS RANGER: TRIAL BY FIRE" which was also filmed in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex area.
