It is key for any young stutterer to find one person who has the patience to wait for you to speak. Someone who won't judge, or laugh, or roll their eyes, or laugh at you behind your back. In my experience, such people are rare. 🙂
Its hard because many times you can pick up what they are meant to say before the person that stutters finish it so you have to stay "interested" and wait for the rest of the sentence even if its not necessary and costs some time. Regardless that, I never make fun, roll my eyes, complete, etc...

I began to have a stutter when I was in the 7th grade and I was with several friends and was excited to say something but I couldn’t get the words out. I quit most speaking because it was embarrassing. My parents never talked about it with me. People thought I was shy. High school was terrible. I couldn’t express myself and felt like I was missing out on life. I finally got a job where I had to talk more and had to knock on people’s doors to tell them I was going to shut their electricity off if they didn’t pay their power bill. It wasn’t a lot of talking but I gradually improved and kept gaining confidence. At about 28 years old I had improved a lot. Now I enjoy speaking and people can’t believe that I had a time in my life where I didn’t talk or wasn’t outgoing. I feel much better now and am very happy. I wish someone had helped me but most probably thought I was just shy. Now I’m 58 and have a 22 year old son that stutters. He gets angry when I try to talk with him about it. I think another good question is, How does your stutter affect your dating life? However, I know it can be personal and touchy for some. My general assumption and being a stutterer myself, females that stutter have it easier dating, compared to males that stutter. Why? Because by social/society standards, its still expected of guys to engage in conversation first, lead, and etc. The extra effort we men that stutter have to put in. Statistics also shows that females that stutter are more then likely to marry still, and or be in relationships, vurses a male that stutters. I myself can attest. 27 years and only been in 1 relationship ever. Twas with a great friend, we went in to it, which was her idea in the first place, we gave it some time, she was patient with me, but eventually she apologized and told me that she couldn't be with me because of my stutter. She hoped that we could remain friends, but I couldn't, so I basically up and left. I became a ghost because I thought that I didint have the right to be anything or anyone anymore because of my stutter. When I began my first semester at college, and at age 21, we ran into each other, and she noticed me first. She was married, had two kids of her own already, and it was her final college year as well. We did some catching up, and that was it. Didn't exchange numbers or anything afterwards, and that was it. Our biggest curses are those that are self imposed. My emotions got the best of me, and I threw away our friendship. It was a beautiful friendship then, and to this day I still believe that we could have been beautiful again. 4 years as friends, and almost a year as a couple. Plus, she was my first friend at the school then because I had just moved from Michigan. However, I understand others may see my situation differently. To this day I still get dreams about her loving me, being in a school environment with her, missing the bus, school stairs missing the stairs, and etc. As always, salute to my fellow stutterers.
there are plenty of people who dont stutter that are terrible speakers...Listen to Mr Trump...lol. I'd rather listen to Paige than many of the people I hear. For Real!!!!
From a fellow stutterer/stammerer here in England, this is aimed specifically at the people that are saying they feel alone and don’t have any friends like this that understand what it’s like to have a stammer. You are not alone and you do have friends that understand because we are your friends and here to support. I’m a 37 year old with a stammer for about 30 years. I’m not a speech therapist but I’d love to share some of my ‘techniques’. I’m sure it’s all stuff you have heard before but I’d love to share advice and take advice also.
Hello Paige, fellow stutterer here. Nice to see more people who stutter are doing vlogs. I wanted to DM you about something I noticed watching your videos but I decided to post it here in case it might help others. One of the few techniques I took from speech therapy was stopping when I have a block. I don't remember the correct terminology. I noticed you force yourself to produce a sound when you have a block. Instead, stop and start over whenever you have a block. That way, you can take a breathe and don't exhaust yourself. It might feel uncomfortable initially but when you get used it, you will notice a big difference. Continue doing these vlogs. In addition to it being an outlet for you, it will help so many people. Am so proud of you. Much love!
Thank you for the advice! ❤️ my blocks are sadly different than most. When I block and get stuck on a sound I simply cannot stop the sound I am making. My stomach (my diaphragm) and my throat lock up and I have no choice but to ride the block out.
@@paigewhite648 Thank you for letting me know your block is different. That's what makes stuttering so interesting. We all have something unique about our stuttering journey. Much love
I really appriciate your effort and ur courage that u r making video on it...because so many people has this problem but they dont want to talk about this...they hide this problem from everyone and because of this problem the get alone and very lonely....
I stutter for about 30 years. In my experience more/less stuttering has to do with youre mood and the speed you talk. If i talk slow (almost same as singing a song) then i stutter way less, because youre not forcing the words out. Mood for me has to do with the person i talk to. If i know or trust this person my mood is better and i stutter less. Hope this helps a bit :)
I'm a stutter too, but there is a technique that can help you. First of all, keep in mind that it is okay if you stutter, it is only a matter of time to convey your message to the listener, secondly, when speaking, try to focus on the first sound of the sentence, do not think about how you pronounce the all sentence In one go, practice pronouncing the sentence in one breath without interrupting the breath in the middle of it, and try to relax your body when speaking like you are a little bit lazy. my best wishes for you, you are so beautiful :)
Paige you are so beautiful and lovely. 💟 I love your cuteness. You are a good speaker and beautiful minded person. I wish I could have a friend like you. #stutterfromBangladesh.
I am also stuttering since my childhood and for this I face many problems in my school and public. I really love your videos and I get more confidence . But this is true that if you make vlogs and post on TH-cam and social media stammering can overcome easil . Keep it up 😊😊
Your anxiety is high. As a stutter myself I recognize the symptoms. You're getting ahead of yourself in your head. When you are relax you're much more fluent like when you told your friend you loved her.
U R amazing 🤩 you are so beautiful and confident, advise from a person who stutter you should take breath before you speak do not push the word try to speak slowly it’s helps A LOT !👍🏼 try not to say all the sentence in one breath . Break it . Have a good day you’re so brave 🥰💗the video was so fun to hear
congratulations beautiful for being so authentic and do not be intimidated to show a little of your life! I am also a stutterer and whenever I can I try to improve with reading aloud repiration and p.n.l or neuroliguistic programming. you are an example for those who want to improve. kisses
I think stuttering is caused by a traumatic event between the ages of 2-7. As a Clinical Hypnotherapist I have found the cause of 100% of my clients. anything from a dog barking in a child's face, to a child seeing some one get shot. This is the spectrum that I have worked with. If any one has any questions about finding the cause of your stutter, please let me know. I think if you can find the cause, you can get to the cure. Thank you for your time.
I stuttered (we call it "Stammering" in India) a lot since my childhood days. According to my parents, I talked well initially but after suffering twice from typhoid at the age of 4 years, this stammering developed. Initially, I struggled a lot during my childhood days in school and then in colleges. However, most of my friends were very cooperative and understood my difficulty and helped me wherever they could. Those were the days when there was no internet, no mobiles and no youtube. So I was just alone in my world. I passed many years from there on (now I am 60) and overcame many negative situations in my life. I still stutter but a lot lot lot less compared to my childhood days. According to latest researches, this is perhaps a genetic disorder and in my case it seems to have come from my maternal side. Although my mother doesn't stammer, two of her brothers stammer a lot. What I observe from the video, you stutter on Cs, Ss, Is, etc whereas I never stuttered on these but I stuttered on Ts, Ds etc. So it varies from person to person. It seems that you are a girl of very strong confidence and I wish all the best in your life and may God bless you to become a successful woman in your future life. Thanks to your friend, who is so cooperative. Subscribed your channel.
You dont have to try hard to say the word that you can't say...just relax...take a deep breath first... and find another word with same worth...when you get nervous or exciting you will getting hard to say somethin' right...when you get so exciting try to calm...relax...take a few seconds...and say it again with low tone...it will help you...okeyyy... Keep spirit...you awesome...you know that...if you dont have a boyfriend...i'll marry you...surrreeee...you so georgious...kin...and...i love your eyes
I am also ex stammer so I understand all things . You have a confident and you accept yourself this is good. Now you try to focus and control your breath because breath is very important .. god bless you.
I don't stutter myself but my ex-boyfriend did. He didn't particularly stutter but he had these "locks" when he was trying to say some word but it didn't came out. I never think anything about it because we all are different. Some are deaf, some of us blind etc.. And I never care about how someone says things and speaks, but I care what kind of person you are, I mean in general. If you are a great person, like these awesome ladies seems to be, then I would love to talk to you. ♥️😊 Don't care about ignorant ppl who must be so "perfect" themself. 🙄 Just be yourself and be proud of it! It doesn't matter how you say it, it matters what you say. 🙂
Your friend is a real one for sure! I stutter to just like you in the aspect of when we are forced to talk it’s hard to speak unlike when we can freely speak it’s not as bad.
I noticed that you struggle with words beginning with A and H even D especially if it’s at the beginning of a sentence.. same here girl. It feels like the words get stuck n you’re all tensed up . I feel you . A small advise from me, u could try this For eg it’s Alex Say aaaaaalex instead of saying the whole word with one shot Let that A drag for a while and then complete your word Helps me too

Hi, really, really great video. I have a question. You guys mention the emotional part of stuttering in addition to the physical. And, Paige, you clarify that that's in reference to you. I am wondering if you are talking about the emotional *effects* of growing up with and living with a stutter, or an emotional *cause.* I know that researchers, for a pretty long time now, believe that stuttering is a neurological disorder, not primarily psychological, the way they used to think. But some people believe that their stutter started with a traumatic event. That doesn't rule out that there's a physical underlying element, of course, but it adds a possible other layer. OR you may have been talking about the usually massive emotional and effects of having a stutter. Hoping you can clear this up for me. Thanks very much.
I know the challenge it can be very frustrating to me, it is hard to meet people for me especially those who don't have like any understanding. To this day I still get dreams about her loving me, being in a school environment with her, missing the bus, school stairs missing the stairs, and etc. As always, salute to my fellow stutterers.
💯
Speaking is not a big deal at all for the people who don't stutter. It's only us who are so concerned about it!!
there are plenty of people who dont stutter that are terrible speakers...Listen to Mr Trump...lol.
That intro takes me back to my High school days. Having to say my name or how old i was. The struggle is real.
Paige is so beautiful and brave. I love her courage. Why did she stop making videos though? God bless her heart.
This is the best video ever!! Like seriously, I love it! Also, your best friend seems super cool and patient. #fellowstutterer
This is a beautiful video and I love your hair 😍
I am also stuttering since my childhood and for this I face many problems in my school and public. I really love your videos and I get more confidence . But this is true that if you make vlogs and post on TH-cam and social media stammering can overcome easil . Keep it up 😊😊
Love this video sooooo much, I love the heart of your friend this was amazing. Please keep making videos!!!!! So which sounds are the hardest for you
Your anxiety is high. As a stutter myself I recognize the symptoms. You're getting ahead of yourself in your head. When you are relax you're much more fluent like when you told your friend you loved her.
No one:
Literally no one:
Me: I guess I'm not alone
You are not alone
there should be a stuttering support group, I would love that.
Amazing girls, keep up the content!
Happy to hear from you again ,, i stutter too and im proud of you my friend ❤
You're amazing to stutteres like myself
No need to be sorry, we feel you.
congratulations beautiful for being so authentic and do not be intimidated to show a little of your life! I am also a stutterer and whenever I can I try to improve with reading aloud repiration and p.n.l or neuroliguistic programming. you are an example for those who want to improve. kisses
i think when she is comfortable , she stutters very less
anyways i love your personality, you are amazing
I think stuttering is caused by a traumatic event between the ages of 2-7. As a Clinical Hypnotherapist I have found the cause of 100% of my clients. anything from a dog barking in a child's face, to a child seeing some one get shot. This is the spectrum that I have worked with. If any one has any questions about finding the cause of your stutter, please let me know. I think if you can find the cause, you can get to the cure. Thank you for your time.
You’re in good spirit, love your videos ❤️
Glad to see you're doing good! Keep up the good work.
get into it yuhhhhh... dope as video. ❤️
Thank you love!!!

I'm glad that my Cutie pie has such a good friend who totally understands about my cutie pie's stuttering problems
Y’all are so pretty omg
As a lifelong stutterer your videos are very impactful
i stutter but only with the letter a s l but other than that i can speak fluently
Don't care about ignorant ppl who must be so "perfect" themself. 🙄 Just be yourself and be proud of it!
It doesn't matter how you say it, it matters what you say. 🙂
Have your stutters ever made you mad
Your friend is a real one for sure! I stutter to just like you in the aspect of when we are forced to talk it’s hard to speak unlike when we can freely speak it’s not as bad.
I had one when I was at school when I left at 16 it disappeared over the years I'm 36 now
I wish I had a good friend like that
I'm stammer too you're videos keeps me motivated. Keep it up Paige love and support from India 👍

Nice to met you again💙you are a strong girl💙
You are a very good lady, I wish you the best 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Actully i have same problem .... i am also feeling very lonely and alone...i dont like to talk with anybody..so thats i have no friends ...
I noticed that you struggle with words beginning with A and H even D especially if it’s at the beginning of a sentence.. same here girl. It feels like the words get stuck n you’re all tensed up . I feel you . A small advise from me, u could try this
For eg it’s Alex
Say aaaaaalex instead of saying the whole word with one shot
Let that A drag for a while and then complete your word
Helps me too
a dream friend...
Daaannggg!

Okay first of all this video makes me feel way better since I stutter but the thing I didn’t like was when the other girl nod her head when Paige said “Awww, you do love me” and the girl nod her head and said with her mouth but not aloud “No I don’t”.
If you start stuttering, just take a pause dont stress on yourself
Your awsome paige!!! Love your channel
I don't know how stutter therapies in US look like, (or if there are any) but I'm preety sure if you were to undergo therapy in my Country (which is Poland) where I had my therapy, I guarantee that your problem would ceased. You very brave putting the videos on YT. But also you need a help with that, it just won't go by itself Paige.
Greetings from Poland ✌️
Cześć . Możesz więcej powiedzieć na ten temat ? Gdzie i jak udało Cię pozbyć jąkania ?
@@tori5468 W Mikołowie. Już dobre kilka lat temu - Nowa Mowa Poznałem też wiele osób której pomogła ta terapia więc działa, chodź pamiętam że sporo kasy w to władowałem i jeszcze więcej czasu i zaangażowania
she is so cute ^^
You two are adorable together ! Paige , you have a great friend and the key to everything in this life is to stop being so damned judgmental about things you don’t know about . Everyone has something that may not be perfect , if we all focus on those things we would never get anywhere . Help out anyone you can in any way that you can , even just by being a friend . Something else we all need ! Take care ladies and yes , I did subscribe to your channel Miss Paige ! I wish you both the best of everything going forward in life , take care and may God bless you both ! Peace ☮️ !
you're pretty
You are so beautiful Paige! ❤️
you're both so beautiful and nice people i hope the best for you and your amazing friendship
Great video! So interesting
Sometime I laugh on my stutter. Btw, do you get headache after talk a lot?
hello I have a question for you!! is it okay to think that stutters are cute? and is it okay to headcanon characters to have a stutter?
I want to congratulate you for your videos. I think you are brave and that is very important. I am stutter too and I am not that brave. For me is difficult to overcome the shame.
God bless you.
You two are beautiful 💖
I know the challenge it can be very frustrating to me, it is hard to meet people for me especially those who don't have like any understanding. Next year this 17 yo male will like enter legal adulthood as I suppose I shall like carry this with me at the end of the day. Stay safe and be well during this pandemic. Thank you.
I saw a video on your Instagram about Valentine's day. You have used a song in that video. I am searching for that song but couldn't find it yet. Can you please please tell me what is the name of that song?
