A well fought effort but something I feel Shamura accepts as an inevitable end. This isn't a fight of survival.. It's something else.. More of a fight of your regrets. What Shamura faces is the byproduct of their most greatest mistake.. Their siblings now all slain and all thats left is themselves. This fight is... Vain. It's almost an eloquent resignation to giving in. Fight it as much as they could this battle would only end in death. A fight to show that they will not hide, they will not run away from the monster they created. It's time they've become that nothing they speak of. Fate. Apologies if I repeated myself a fair bit.. I just.. music like these fill me with such convictions of ideas.. A raw emotion. Songs tell stories.. And to feel them is just something I feel I must describe in my own interpretation sometimes. Truly River Boy is talented, Music should invoke something.. something grand. Something you just have.. click in your mind and you think.. This is what this means.. this is how I feel.. It's truly a beautiful thing.

How much passion, not towards just the music itself, but also the meanings and messages behind it, people can muster. I find it really inspirational seeing how others can draw so many in-depth remarks from just one song. Wow.
Great analysis! That whining, high-pitched synth, which alternates between muffled and clean sounding, like a pulsing headache, is a final cherry on the cake that helps to truly feel Shamura's feelings during his final standoff.

But as the song goes on it starts to take on a more confused and demented mix reflecting his confused state and desire for war. But as the beat goes on we get very pointed, a lot more calm tapping like gestures from the piano - if it is a piano - giving the impression of a pulse or time. When the song reaches it's end. It's start to become actually rather relaxed, even belated in a sense. Like, in a weird way in accepting his fall he's being released from his regrets and the doomed future he predicted. I don't think he even WANTS to win, even if he think he could. He dosen't have much to live for at this point and you get that impression from him. The way even the chorus kicks in is less "I'm gonan kill ya. I'm gonna get ya" and more "finally. The end of the mountain climb. Now all I got to do is play my role and go out with dignity" Even at the end. He was still trying his best to be the deity of war. After all, wars are fought for lost causes all the time. It makes them no less deadly, threatening, nor noble.
The thing I like about this boss theme is that it feels less like a boss fight against the bishops and more of a duel between you and shamura as they are the only thing stopping the one who waits from taking over the world.

Fun fact game the bishops: when you defeat them and see ??? They said that the bishops are in the purgatory fighting for all eternity for their actions. But until their followers summoned the bishops back to the world. This could also be why they could talk to you. Even Shamura accepted that they deserved this. From the statue fight. So maybe shamura can show some empathy towards others but still be evil.
I don't think it's not as back and white. Narinder and the bishops all had they’re role. It's inplied that Narinder hated that he was the god of death (and therefore not abel to grow because death never evolves like knowledge or chaos does) and wanted to change that And Shamura being the eldest sibling had to do something before something horrible happens, the problem was they didn't want to kill their baby brother because of how much they loved him. Narinder and his siblings did all bad things to try to do the good thing.

I just noticed that the boss themes seem to have less of a backtrack as you get further into the game. With Leshy's theme you can hear a chorus in the background. Heket's theme has lots of instruments but only her voice is heard. Kallamar's theme is mostly just the main melody, and then Shamura's theme just feels weak, almost muffled. Its because you are killing off all the members/supporters of the old faith. Im probably overthinking it but it could be true

Shamura is the best fight in the game imo. Im just always having so fun while fighting them at all times... except of that one time I was abt to fight them in purgatory realm when they crashed my game... I was so close to finishing that run... and I had almost 3 fricking rows of hearts so... yea.
The first time I was at Shamura's boss fight. There was so much going on that I didn't even know if I was thinking at that point. I was just aimlessly swinging my hammer trying to get hit, meanwhile she was breading literal bombs, spiders. generating fireballs just from jumping. Doing multiple anime jumps on me. It was just pure chaos, and this song made it an even better experience.

So, I've been curious about something, mainly, their divinity. So, the crowns are one of two things, they're either the source of their power or the representative of it, and i am personally a believer of the former since the lamb gets powers from the red crown, which leads to my second thought, could anyone put on a crown and become a god, where do the crowns come from, are they like lantern rings and just find a new host once their previous one dies. Anyhow, enough needing, cool boss fight, awesome music, great game, i hope to see more out of it in potential expansions or sequels
SPOILER WARNING I think the Red Crown is slightly different to the others, and here's why: When we meet Shamura in the Silk Cradle, they explain that The One Who Waits ruled over the domain of Death, which is the only domain of the Old Faith that is naturally unchanging. TOWW wanted the ability to control and change how Death worked, and Shamura gave him that ability (which I assume is the Red Crown) So the way I see it, the Crowns are vessels of power that give the Bishops the ability to change how their domains work. But I don't think all of their divine power lies within the Crowns, as we see with TOWW at the end, he still very much has godlike power despite not having the Red Crown. Yet again, I think the Red Crown is extra special, because it allows the wearer to change Death, which is not meant to be changed. I think because of this, the Red Crown holds more power than the others, and more power even than its intended wearer The One Who Waits. As for where they come from, it's not clear but I think Shamura plays a part in that. Its definitely heavily implied that Shamura gave TOWW the Red Crown, so it's not a stretch to assume they have the means to either make them, or procure them from higher gods (for example, ??? in the new DLC, who makes a comment about how they knew Shamura before their head injury). It definitely makes sense given that Shamura claims Knowledge as their domain, that they would know of this secret.
My sis defeated Shamura first try while screaming. I defeated them first try aswell, i made thru half their fight hitless tbh, and their theme is such a jam.

I really like how when shamura's bandages disappear, revealing his brain, is shows that the crown is fused to its head like a parasite. It could also be the only think keeping him alive.
I personally always thought Shamura uses plural due to being the central nexus of a hive mind and is basically the one to speak for the entire swarm as a result. (Or, more humorously/disturbingly, that they forgot their own gender due to massive cranial trauma)

Experience with the boss: Was worried,so just called my two favorite followers to help. Them,i reached it with a little sword that did 1.9 attack,and damn was so shit running that didn't even know WHO was the boss. I didn't have the ressurection crown ability and to not lose my count of clearing every dungeon without deaths,i left. Returned again,with a axe that did 10 damage and frick just spammed and won Loved the amount of shit happening in the fight (Rank:9/10) I will go to the final gate now,bye guys.

Shamura was easy for me, i'm not sure if they're meant to be but i was able to "no hit" them, first try. Heket was my least favorite boss, she was basically unpredictable and had me just hitting her at any chance I was given and losing 10 hearts.

My problem with Heket is that her tongue attack’s telegraph is awful, and there’s no way to dodge her hop attack if you’re next to her when she does it.
I thought Shamura was female, along with Heket, considering that she has a bunch of eggs that hatch during the bossfight, I just assumed that they were hers
I honestly think this track fits Kallamar more. It’s quiet and discordant, and the instruments almost feel… distant in a way? And you know Kallamar’s kind of a bullet-hell boss. In fact, I’m nearly convinced that they were supposed to be the other way around, cause Kallamar’s theme is very orchestral and dramatic, but also sad, which would be fitting for the final, vain attempt to kill you that is Shamura. Plus Kallamar’s music is just more memorable.

On my first attempt I had godly hammer and about 950% damage boost from golden fleece (before it got nerfed), literally killed her in about 3-4 hits, got both the kill and the no damage achievements on the first try, which honestly felt kinda anticlimactic. The game was hyping her up to be this 1000 attempt type of boss and I just body her first try. My advice, practice dodging, like a lot

So, the crowns are one of two things, they're either the source of their power or the representative of it, and i am personally a believer of the former since the lamb gets powers from the red crown, which leads to my second thought, could anyone put on a crown and become a god, where do the crowns come from, are they like lantern rings and just find a new host once their previous one dies.
Anyhow, enough needing, cool boss fight, awesome music, great game, i hope to see more out of it in potential expansions or sequels
SPOILER WARNING
I think the Red Crown is slightly different to the others, and here's why:
When we meet Shamura in the Silk Cradle, they explain that The One Who Waits ruled over the domain of Death, which is the only domain of the Old Faith that is naturally unchanging. TOWW wanted the ability to control and change how Death worked, and Shamura gave him that ability (which I assume is the Red Crown)
So the way I see it, the Crowns are vessels of power that give the Bishops the ability to change how their domains work. But I don't think all of their divine power lies within the Crowns, as we see with TOWW at the end, he still very much has godlike power despite not having the Red Crown.
Yet again, I think the Red Crown is extra special, because it allows the wearer to change Death, which is not meant to be changed. I think because of this, the Red Crown holds more power than the others, and more power even than its intended wearer The One Who Waits.
As for where they come from, it's not clear but I think Shamura plays a part in that. Its definitely heavily implied that Shamura gave TOWW the Red Crown, so it's not a stretch to assume they have the means to either make them, or procure them from higher gods (for example, ??? in the new DLC, who makes a comment about how they knew Shamura before their head injury). It definitely makes sense given that Shamura claims Knowledge as their domain, that they would know of this secret.
My sis defeated Shamura first try while screaming. I defeated them first try aswell, i made thru half their fight hitless tbh, and their theme is such a jam.

I really like how when shamura's bandages disappear, revealing his brain, is shows that the crown is fused to its head like a parasite. It could also be the only think keeping him alive.

Was worried,so just called my two favorite followers to help. Them,i reached it with a little sword that did 1.9 attack,and damn was so shit running that didn't even know WHO was the boss.
I didn't have the ressurection crown ability and to not lose my count of clearing every dungeon without deaths,i left.
Returned again,with a axe that did 10 damage and frick just spammed and won

Shamura was easy for me, i'm not sure if they're meant to be but i was able to "no hit" them, first try. Heket was my least favorite boss, she was basically unpredictable and had me just hitting her at any chance I was given and losing 10 hearts.

listening to this with headphones.... I feel like a lunatic? not suprised since this is the battle theme of someone whose skull is split in half
I honestly think this track fits Kallamar more. It’s quiet and discordant, and the instruments almost feel… distant in a way? And you know Kallamar’s kind of a bullet-hell boss.
In fact, I’m nearly convinced that they were supposed to be the other way around, cause Kallamar’s theme is very orchestral and dramatic, but also sad, which would be fitting for the final, vain attempt to kill you that is Shamura.
Plus Kallamar’s music is just more memorable.

My last achievement I have to get is peace, the only things actually giving me hope are glass cannon fleece and hounds of fate XVIII
On my first attempt I had godly hammer and about 950% damage boost from golden fleece (before it got nerfed), literally killed her in about 3-4 hits, got both the kill and the no damage achievements on the first try, which honestly felt kinda anticlimactic. The game was hyping her up to be this 1000 attempt type of boss and I just body her first try. My advice, practice dodging, like a lot
