It’s crazy how much Jalen’s throwing mechanics and accuracy improved after going to Oklahoma. Tbh getting benched at Alabama was the best thing to happen to him, because he got to go and spend a year with a quarterback guru in Lincoln Riley who ended up developing him into a MUCH better passer and because of that I think now he is a good a enough passer to play QB in the NFL.
It’s great coming back and seeing comments like these as a USC Trojan right now.
Not many people noticed this for some reason Lincoln Riley saved his career I was telling m boys from day 1 he was a steal even in round 2 for the eagles that’s why Carson was mad

Not even a fan of either program. Just an Indians fan watching his team slowly getting better. Something about Jalen just always impressed me. He plays with a grace and smoothness that I just always appreciated. He’s a straight up team guy, and he absolutely can play the position. I hope he succeeds in the pros.

I think he's the most slept on QB in the draft. Once he earns his starting position in the NFL, whether that be in his first season or third season (etc.), I think he's going to be a top 10 QB in the league (active, not all time).

This Quarterback won more games then any other Quarterback in this draft. He has won championships on two different teams, he had 4 different Offensive Coordinators, he had some of the best passing stats of all Quarterbacks in the draft, and he was a runner up for the Heisman Trophy. If he was a white Quarterback entering the NFL Draft he would be consider a lock for the 1st round and probably go in the top three if not number one.

Got benched in favor of a freshman in the biggest game, been bad in championship and National title games, inconsistent, can’t read a defense, struggles with accuracy and ball placement, easy to win a lot when you are on the best team, not going to elevate his team but rather they elevate him, finally he has the talent of a day 3 guy. Maybe late 3rd round if lucky but he is a 4th to 7th talent
Just Another Troll we keep forgetting that the head coach did not allow his Quarterbacks to throw the ball 80% of the time they ran the ball and played great defense. That is why the head coach and the offensive coordinator had issues. When Jalen came in the SEC Championship fame he was slinging the ball all over the field and I don’t remember him having ball placement issues or interceptions. When he transferred to another school and played for a coach that’s known for his offense he was killing it, only loss two games, and was a Heisman Trophy 🏆 finalist. Last I checked scrubs are not selected to come to New York for the Heisman Trophy 🏆 Ceremony unless you have done something great. How many yards and touchdowns did he throw for last year. How many touchdowns did he run for last year? He changed schools and still made to the top of the mountain. Game recognize game. People talked the same crap about Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes.

MyBudinesd Jalen isn’t what you are making him out to be. Do you realize Baker Mayfield was much much better than Jalen in every single facet of the game while he was at Oklahoma? And people say he is garbage. Kyler Murray was also miles and miles above Jalen. Jalen will be a good backup. But yes he does have accuracy issues. Did you just use what he did in the Big 12 (the conference known for absolutely no defense) and say what he did there shows he is great? He struggled in the conference known for the best competition. Even this year, he played LSU who most thought were average on defense, and get got beat up and he couldn’t do anything about it. He has heart, he has the mind set, and overall he has the brain. What he does not have is a great arm that can place the ball where he wants it.

Lol Dude I watched every game. He was an inconsistent passer, a constant fumbler of the ball, and a complete ball hog. He put up high stats but that was at the expense of the team. I hope he does well in the NFL, the same way I hope all OU players do, but he is no Kyler Murray or Baker Mayfield. He didn’t carry the team.

Lol Dude oh okay, cool. Most of the people that make these comments just look at the stats and the highlight reel, and say, “he’s great I don’t get it”. You are totally right though, his completion percentage is high when he is only throwing to wide receivers that have a mile of distance, and only throwing 13 times a game.
I mean he is one quick read to Ceedee, and if he is not WIDE OPEN, it’s time to run for 1 yard or -1 yard. It also says a lot when 50% of your highlights were against SOUTH DAKOTA, Houston, and UCLA. The first not even being an FBS school, and the other two just being horrible this year.

JR Thomas I’m an OU fan and I love Jalen hurts and I have a lot of respect for him as a player and as a person. But Joe Burrow is ridiculous. He’s the # 1 pick without a doubt.
Caleb Pendleton Hurts will likely be in a better situation, and on a better team. Burrow will be drafted by Cincinnati, and will probably be on bad teams for a long time. Hurts on the other hand, will probably be drafted by the Raiders, and will play right away with Carr being unsalvageable. I feel like Hurts is a Gruden type of QB.

I'm a diehard OU fan, and many fellow OU fans didn't give Jalen enough credit. He followed two legends in Baker and Kyler, so he was always going to be second rate compared to those guys. But, Jalen really was incredible for OU in 2019. If he had the 2020 OU defense, maybe they could've won a natty. Oh wait, LSU still would've beat us by 20.

I was upset when we took him at first but now I actually love the pick, Carson has been prone to injury as sad as it is to say we need a QB to back him up but also potentially replace Carson for several games in a season and I love his potential in our offence, he can be utilized better to our offence than maybe even Carson can so final thoughts are that this was a good pick and it can be a great pick.

I’m the biggest Jalen fan but now I’m starting to see why they doubted him… a lot of times he wasn’t throwing into tight coverage and CeeDee had a LOT of RAC on some of these plays
Every QB at a top program is throwing to wide open WR’s. Even though the league is trending to his style of play, there is still a narrative out there.
The greatest mystery in life is how much he developed in less than 2 years. Wow. He couldn’t hit the Great Wall of China’s few years ago now he’s throwing 58 yard completions with pressure
