I popped mine during your Wednesday livestream. A damn delicious bottle. I picked mine up for 44$.. I’m going back Monday to grab two more if available.
Thanks for the review. Just picked mine up today. Have family coming over for thanksgiving. I know what I’m going to crack. I’ll have regular 101 for the distant relatives I don’t like. 😂 Cheers and thanks again bro.
I couldn't get one. Sold out in one day around me. Sad. Jimmy wanted this to be a thank you to the every day Turkey fan. Hopefully there will be more on the shelf soon.
that's awesome if that was his intention. I really does drink like a superior 101 WT. wild turkey 101 is my everyday. I go back and forth between 101, old forester 100, and old gran dad bib... but WT 101 is without a doubt the favorite!
I started hunting for this about a week ago in northern New Jersey. Finally found one for $54.99! Got the last one in the store. This is an allocated bottle for NJ, Jason IDK where you got the information that there will be many of these bottles available. I am a long time WT 101 fan going back to the late 1980s. This bottle is the best tasting WT product that I have had the pleasure to consume in many years. I hope that everyone can get access to this, its excellent! Like Jason mentioned in his review, its not going to win any whiskey of the year awards but it is a wonderful pour and a great value for the price! Cheers to all, happy hunting for this one!
@@thomasgallagher1945 glad you're enjoying it. I got my info from master blender Bruce Russell. Lol. But he doesn't know exactly where and how many bottles go
Bought and backed up. 101 is one of my favorites so I was totally excited about this one. Did the Wild Turkey tour hoping to pick one up but no dice. A week later and they are on the shelves here and plentiful. I get tones of cherry and orange, almost like an old fashion but better and not overly sweet. Thanks for the review. Cheers
Thanks for the video! I've got a key question though, do you think it better than Russell's Reserve Single Barrel? Because to me, that is the top of the Wild Turkey every day available product.
Just got a bottle of this from a kroger in Lexington yesterday. The employee asks.....you looking for something allocated? She had this and Russell 15. I went with this for 50 bucks. The Russell 15 ?.....not forking over 300.
It’s not that available yet in my area, so I bought the only two bottles on the shelf. Being a WT, I knew I was going to like it and I wasn’t wrong. So glad I have a backup while the price is right! A bargain to be honest...
Local liquor store I spotted these at first had them at $65, but I hadn't seen any reviews of it yet. For closer to MSRP, say under $60 I will be picking up 2
For me, I have noticed that the bourbon actually tastes bests upon the third and beyond sips. The finish seems to last longer and the flavors come across more pure. Have you had issues evaluating a bourbon based on the first sip - like you did today? Thanks for the review.
I just found one at Sam's in Panama City Beach. I was unsure about getting it, but after watching this video, I'm glad I got one. There were 3 left as of 3 hours ago. 🎉🎉🎉
I'm excited I was just able to find a bottle today. I would say it's very tasty and a buy. I don't think I'm going to back it up, but I'm glad I got it and I like it.
I wish that they would come out with an offering of Kentucky Spirit at the original proof point of 104. Although, I'm glad that the Rare Breed has been elevated from 108 to 116.8. Wild Turkey products have always topped my bourbon selections. Great show as always! Cheers!
I bought one locally here in Louisville, not saying where so that the flippers don't bombard them. It is NOT at all what I expected, and I LOVE IT! I expected something more along the lines of a Russell's Reserve flavor, but as your review states, it's an amped up WT 101! The flavor of Rare Breed (maybe more complex) at 101 proof!
Nice review of something I will be on the lookout for sure. Just got home from the bank, WHAT A GAME 2! This might be a series for the books. Cheers Jason, go Phillies
great video like always! Was able to get a bottle last week and looking forward in sharing it with some friends that are also big Wild Turkey fans. It sucks flippers are doing what you said, and also is baffling this is $50 when so many other upcoming releases are going for $250 or more.
I am a huge, Wild Turkey fan as well! I am really excited that I was able to pick this up two days ago. I agree with you on the tasting notes as well. I was really surprised by the mouthfeel being 101 proof. It’s such a great find for 50 bucks.
I did a blind earlier in the week that included 101s and KY Spirits. The CN-E was opened same weekend as the 70th anny. BOTH brought up the rear. Beat by a 2020 101 and 2022 101 bottles (been open for years) and all got crushed by a CN-C from 2022. That is just a spectacular bottle, even beat the 12 year 101. So gonna try again months from now. But will say the 70th anniversary is delicious on it's own and runs cheaper than KY Spirits in my area.
@@javieracosta3439 Interesting! Thanks! They have CN-E KS at my local liquor store so was curious if I should hold out for the 70th or pickup the KS bottle.
@@seventhsealhere usually KY Spirits dont fly off shelves. So maybe you can hold off til the 70th hits your area. If you can't get one of those, a CN-E isn't a bad consolation prize. Distribution has been hit or miss here in CT Stores that don't do much Turkey sales got one bottle. Some that have done consistent Russell's or KY Spirit picks got a case or two.
Jason, you continue to have some of the very best reviews online. I just wish you would hold off on giving your reviews until bottles arrive in my area. By the time your best-reviewed bottles arrive in my area, people are hoarding them and I’m unable to get my hands on them.
If you haven't already, need an 8 year battle (no single barrels): Turkey, Riff, Woodenville and a Willet (or some other highely sought after, allocated bottle). Wouldn't mind seeing something highly sought after/priced like those Willet bottles. Could throw in 8 yr ryes that are around that 51 % rye level/'rye that's a bourbon' mashbill. How much difference between the two that are somewhat restricted by the average age of the blend (Riff, Woodenville). Riff's is essentially being true to their BiB philosophy, so it's restricted. Woodinville's is because they probably don't have any older stuff that they want to spare, or actually can spare.
This release to me (I love my bottle) proves that Turkey still has it. It makes me wonder if corporate is to blame for the classic 101 taking such a quality hit
These are just sitting on a full shelf at Costco for the last few weeks here in NM for $39.99. Glad people care more about Tequila here and ignore all the awesome bourbons sitting on the shelf.
I was able to taste this at the distillery last week and it was great. Got lucky while I was their with Jimmy showing up and they brought out 88 bottles!!! Was able to get 1 and have Jimmy sign it!!!! Now looking for another bottle so I can open it and drink it!!
Super glad I was offered one for $60, awesome bottle! My only gripe, oddly enough, is the price. Regular 101 in Japan is always 8yr age stated and available everywhere for $18-$21. I think for this milestone they could've afforded a 12yr for the same price.
Well, Jimmy said that was his preferred age of whiskey. Im just wondering if these are essentially barrel picked 101. Not sure if id pay $50 for that, but maybe. I have 101 and Rare as Quintessential stock on my bar, but my bar is limited in space now. So I dont know if I’ll pay for it. Ive seen it a couple times already.
Picked up 2024 Celler Aged, E.H. Taylor - Single Barrel, Weller 12 & Blanton's this week in Del Rio, Texas. Went into town to get supplies for my Ranch in Rocksprings, Texas, and my wife suggested stopping at a local liquor store. All @ S.R.P. Great little haul!
Thank you for saying what you said about the flippers flipping signed bottles being a shitty move. It’s absolutely shitty and un classy.
Just as shitty as the distillery taking advantage of idiots since it’s the same juice as Japan just with dumb marketing for American suckers
Where would you flip a bottle? Isn’t it illegal to sell liquor without a license ?
You can sell whatever you want on the secondary from hand to hand. @randymarsh3582
Jimmy is wonderful. Drives a crappy old Sienna and parks by the ramp to the gift shop. Sharp as a tack!

Bought my backup bottle today. 49! Amazing value!
Grabbed one to drink immediately and one to store for a rainy day!
I met Jimmy back in August. Such a great fellow! I bought a flask and got an autograph from him
I got two bottles yesterday at my Costco here in socal. $41 that's a steal

seems to be lots out there so you'll probably get your chance if you haven't already
just picked one up yesterday . it was on the shelf for a month here, for less than 50$
WT101 is my favorite daily, so I'm really excited to open this bottle once my cold goes away 😢
Great bottle at a great price. I snagged 2 when I found it.
Found a bottle today. Butterscotch, brown sugar, baking spices and some zest. I think it will get even better as it opens up. Price point was good.
Sounds great! Hopefully I find it for MSRP, I feel like Jimmy would hate to see this bottle marked up.
Purchased a bottle this past Thursday at my ABC store, Jacksonville,NC for $49.95. Happy to add this one to my bar.
Some Mariano's in Chicagoland are selling for $43. Don't wait!!

Really love the flipper comments! Great review and video.
Great review as always J! This sounds amazing! My hat is off to WT for keeping this affordable. They could have easily charged consumers double.
I've got one, haven't cracked it yet, but looking forward to it! Seems available in Colorado
Absolutely messed up when flippers do that with his signature and trying to capitalize on it. Awaiting for it to show up in Houston market.

Picked one up today. It is a banger. Hopefully stores around here get more because i bought the last one on the shelf in my area and i want another
Enjoyed the taste along Jason. Agree to all you said!
Can you do a quadruple bass with three other WT101’s from say 2024, 2020, 2013 and or 2008?
Great video and superb review! I hope this release comes to the Phoenix market. Thank you!
Hope it makes it to out neck of the woods. Just bought WT 101, which is one of my favorite pours. Thanks for the review Jason. Cheers.
I am drinking one right now and it's really worth the 50 bucks I paid for it.
