Something happened to it's mother most likely died some how and the troupe left it. I'm almost positive it died. It would not of lasted over night all alone.
This poor baby is a boy. He is very freshly born, with the medial end of the umbilical cord attached still. It seems likely he fell, or was dropped into the rushing water, got himself out, and up on a branch. Or he was drenched by the splashes, or downpour. He seemed terrified, hungry, alone, stressed. This video was made many years ago, I've only just come across this video. I hope the filming crew did something to save this little unfortunate baby. Won't most of us want to reach into the screen, pick up baby, cuddle, and feed this baby?
It leans forward to make that ear piercing sound.. endangered or not, if it yells at me like this it's getting a big rock thrown at it.. several in fact...
So sad this baby monkey is crying out for his mother wich may had gotten killed by some predator leaving this poor 8 month old monkey crying himself to death from starvation thats why it's so skinny what ashame and sad.
