I took it as workers for the recovery company stole it. I can see that being stolen. But if I was scuba diving and found a bunch of gold I'm keeping it. Finders keepers. They had 400 years to find it themselves.

It is kind of incredible how so much information is left out in the reports on this channel. I don’t know if they just don’t bother to find the information or giving all the facts and reasons for what they’re reporting would make the story too long. Lazy journalism.

The government is a pirate in this case though. If you look they made it illegal to recover ships and made huge amounts of water a monument even though the government knows there’s thousands of ships that could be recovered. They know the government won’t recover them. The government would rather it rot and be destroyed by water and time then let a business recover ships and then pay taxes on it. Remember the price of money dictates human behavior which is why two decades of free money has produced bubbles in assets as trickle down economics was relabeled byobama as the wealth effect. The wealth effect is trickle down economics relabeled and pushed by democrats but most democrats don’t realize it. Then democrats got mad at Trump for tax cuts but are uneducated so they could synthesize that Obama’sinterest rate cuts was the equivalent of a tax cut.
Also yes pragmatically government is needed blah blah blah. How else can big businesses collude and have monopolies without state sanctioned backing as they’ve done for centuries. I totally understand. But it’s not free market capitalism as we’re taught but more like fascism. Did you know our federalreserve pays a6%dividend and is privately owned?

Simple. As she said the FBI found them selling the coins online. The coins were probably taken from the wreck. Wreck site salvage was brought by certain company/group/org. and so technically that company owns any of the treasure/artifacts. FBI told FWC who has jurisdiction since its stolen goods from a shipwreck

Hmm as long as private company owned the wreck site then that’s good. I thought it was the fish and wildlife owned the site and was wanting to make money for the government that way. See huge swaths of ocean was turned into a monument so it’s illegal to recover ships and no private company can recover the thousands of ships that are sunk. The government would rather let them erode or recover it for themselves

It gets even stupider than that. If you find the coins in international waters and keep them that's illegal. But people with metal detectors can find them on the beach and keep them. Supposedly the original Country who owned the gold still has ownership over it.
If I found it I would sell it from a Country that doesn't have laws on it. Finders keepers. If they wanted it they had 400 years to find it themselves

the rules here in Florida are great - I started Treasure hunting down the Keys in 68, then this guy named Mel Fisher somehow got ownership of all the rights for the entire state of Florida so if you want to hunt you have to pay his company at least $1,000 per year for a small area and if you get lucky and find anything you also have to split that with the Fisher company and the state - Florida has a water Wonderland that is so great that you cannot keep anything found or most of the fish you catch - I spent at least $30,000 to hunt the Keys before Bush One made the entire Keys a Marine Sanctuary so if you get caught with a metal detector they can take you boat and car and everything in them -

Every inch of Florida coast is under lease from the state to salvage companies. If it's in the water it's state property and the lease holder. No such thing as finders keepers in Florida ocean. Someone was skimming finds from both the lease holder or the state depending on who did the skimming. Anything on the beaches is finders keepers but if it's in ankle deep water or beyond it's state property. Been this way for decades now.

If the treasure is on the beach its finders keepers however if a license is given to a salvage company to still go and search for 1715 Fleet gold, FWC gets part of the action.
