- WHAT HAPPENED TO SARGE? Where Did The Green Army Men Go in Toy Story 3? | Pixar Theory // Have you ever wondered what happened to the toy soldiers in Toy Story? Andy started out with over 200 troops in his Bucket o Soldiers and by Toy Story 3, only 3 remained: Sarge and two paratroopers.
In today’s video, I break down a Toy Story Pixar Theory that explains where did Sarge go in Toy Story 3 and what happened to the Green Army Men after they left Andy’s house but before they made it to Sunnyside Daycare.
Toy Story Sarge, the toy soldiers, and the Green Army Men are small characters (literally), but have played an important role in the Toy Story films at times, so it’s fun to learn more about these characters! Sarge Toy Story and the Green Army Men Toy Story also have an encounter with everyone’s favorite trashman in a Sid Toy Story 3 easter egg!

Fun fact: the voice actor for Sarge (R. Lee Ermey) was a Marine drill instructor during the Vietnam War before he started acting.

I have a bunch of plastic soldiers from my childhood and they never decreased; they only multiplied and are protected in a plastic bin for the time being. No trash bags for them! I don't see how 200 of Andy's could go down to 3 like that.

@@Adam-oh3vu I'm not sure but it's in the ballpark of around 500-600. I got a whole bunch of different eras of soldiers and that was one of my main things for toys when I was little.

I miss these boys back in the day. A lot of these soldiers fought to save the day. I'm proud of my 1st Green Army division and the 82nd Parachute green infantry division.

Fun fact: in the day care in one of the rooms theres a bucket of army men So maybe sarge And the two paratroopers reunited with the rest of the squad, at least i hope so

I had these as a kid. I used to put them in a huge tank and push it around the house. My favourite scene is the mission in the first film. They take it so seriously, the hand signals, the first aider, the paratroopers, even the way the orders are worded. Brilliant.

Knowing that all the other army men were probably thrown away makes it worse since Sarge probably ended up with PTSD as being thrown away is treated as the equivalent of dying in the toy story universe

I believe Al’s Toy Barn might’ve switched locations because in Toy Story of Terror Al is seen on the name of a box including the company Al’s Toy Barn on it buying Woody for $2,000 which makes sense and also means he’s trying again to become rich.
Missed opportunity for them to have the toy store be Galaxy Toys even if Kingdom Hearts 3 wasn't out yet at the time, the game is still canon.
I heard there’s a book that serves as a prequel to Frozen 2, explaining the lure of the enchanted forest. I don’t remember the title, but I thought it would be a cool video idea so...🤷♂️

These were my favorite toys as a kid. I used to play a game where you set them up on a giant area on the ground, and 2 people would take turns shooting marbles at each other's soldiers. Whoever knocked all the others down won, the things we do in childhood haha.

If you pay close attention, in Toy Story 3 you can see the Bucket O' Soldiers in a shelf. So its most likely Sarge and the two Paratroopers got reunited with the rest of the army after the end of the movie. According to my way to see it, Andy might had just donated the whole bucket to Sunnyside while keeping these three troopers as his 'favourites', since they are special molds after all.
Just like he did with the rest of his toys. He kept his lifetime favourites and sold/gave away the rest.
I hope Pixar remembers this details and really hope i can see all of them reunited once again in the 5th movie to continue doing their missions for the group!

I think that Barbie and the soldiers would have remembered and recognised each other, and she and Ken told Andy’s toys about their arrival in one of their letters to them. Also, while it would be cool to see the green army men return, it seems very unlikely, due to the passing of Ronald Lee Ermey.
In hindsight, they could have appeared in Hawaiian Vacation, instead of Captain Zip-it and the Lego mini figures.
Well unfortunately for sarge and his paratrooper's those kids will destroy them like Sid in the first movie also this book is depressing because out off the 400 soldiers only 3 remain that's quite a story for sarge

Some of them retired in some remote south pacific island with the Hawaiian dolls and some of them survive as polymer soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them....maybe you can hire The Green-Team.😄

That's exactly what I though. I watched toy story 3 specifically for the army dudes but as I remember I don't think they were featured. I was really disappointed, I have a buket O soldiers I bought from Darby at the market, I'm only missing the parachute guys and a couple of others but oh well!
