  • Dream Sleeper (ドリームスリーパー) is a luxury overnight bus hotel (高速バス 夜行バス) with the most expensive first class seats in Japan! (日本で一番高いファーストクラス席).
    This time, I traveled about 550 km (340 miles) from Tokyo to Osaka, taking 8 hours (大阪→東京). No shoes allowed on the bus. And when you close the individual door, your seat will become a private room. (土足禁止 完全個室).
    Right now, it only runs on weekends, so I recommend checking the official website as soon as you decide on your travel plans. dreamsleeper.jp/en/
    ☆★☆This is what it was actually like!☆★☆
    --Osaka to Tokyo on the Dream Sleeper--
    * No shoes allowed (Carpeted floor)
    * The large windows were well cleaned, not even a water stain.
    * It was great that it became a completely private room when you closed the door.
    * There were too many buttons for reclining.
    * The warm water shower toilet and powder room were super clean.
    * I didn't hear anyone else snoring.
    * I really appreciate the drivers' hard work.
    A challenge to visit every country in the world... "Japan" is the "1st" country that I visited out of all the 196 counties in the world.

      Have any of you people that disagree with “Dragon Meddler” ever seen the buses and bus stations here in the USA? I have seen the ones in Seattle WA, Portland OR, Sacramento CA, and Los Angeles…. They are a TOTAL DISGRACE…. I am VERY sad to say. Numerous homeless people living right in front of the bus station… not just sleeping, but freaking LIVING there. They try to keep them away from the front doors but they line up along the outside of the building with there cardboard beds and plastic bags full of “possessions”, garbage, I don’t know what. Graffiti not just on the buildings but also on some of the busses. And on the buses… scratches on the widows (graffiti, vulgar images), dried chewing gum on the seats and floor. This is VERY sad 😞. And come on…. Anyone that doesn’t know the disgraceful terrible condition of our major downtown cities here in the USA… simply hasn’t been to one in the last fifteen years. And it keeps getting worse and worse and worse. It is a matter of what ethics a person learns while growing up and what elected officials will tolerate. “Defund the police”, that is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. But with at least fifty percent of the USA saying… “It is OK for people to do what ever they want to do. It’s perfectly fine if a person wants to drink themselves to death or put dangerous drugs in there arm” this situation is exactly what you get. America (once the greatest country on the face of this planet) has lost its way. And it breaks my heart to see this. 😢

    I've been to Japan and honestly it's worth every penny. Only issue is that you might need a guide because it's somewhat difficult to find something really cool that not all tourists take. For ex. we stayed in Hotels where only Japanese people stayed etc. And then there's the issue of people not understanding english. Only the younger ones that learned it in school are capable of that. But it's really amazing. That was like nothing I've ever seen

    That price is incredible. I used to pay about $40 in the $90s for a single seat on a standard bus going from on city to the next in Ontario. $140 CAD for a luxury seat long distance in 2021 is a really good deal!

    My family and i rode a regular night sleeper bus from Tokyo to Kyoto. It costs half the price of this luxury one but it was a pretty cool and comfy ride too. It had a charging port, a personal light and an awning thing above your head for when you want to sleep and want to avoid the bright lights. And a curtain in between the seats because it was 2 seats beside each other on either side of the bus. It was a longer ride too because there were more bus stops, there was no comfort room inside the bus. But the bus stops were a treat for us because there were lots of food to buy and also the toilets were very clean and comfy. The driver and conductor were very kind and polite and they asked every one to not talk too loudly because people are sleeping. There was a limit to the luggage that you were allowed to store into the bus though which was understandable.
    Overall it saved us travel time and also hotel expenses in Tokyo (which is very expensive) since we slept overnight on the bus.

    I hate travelling by bus because of the proximity, but these seats with mini rooms are perfect for a night trip! Also the fact that they provide a cleaned pajama to wear during a bus trip is the kind of things you would only see in Japan! My North American self is always mindblown by how things are kept clean, organized and in the respect of everyone’s comfort and privacy in Japan. I would definitely fit in well in that culture.
