Oh Janie that is so very cool! I love that this is non toxic and the possibilities are endless. That tray is so pretty and the gem!! Thank you for another great tutorial, I hope you will do more ❤
Thanks 😊 They also have non-toxic colarant that I want to get so I don't have to use alcohol ink since that is toxic. But you can also color it with acrylic paint and I looked and that paint I have is non-toxic so I will probably use that next time. But I definitely want to get ArtResin colorant. It is fun to create with this....you should give it a try 😊💗🤗 Hugs....Janie
You should! This brand is non-toxic and no fumes and you don't need to wear one of those big bulky masks. I think you would love it. I have a few more resin videos planned.....if I don't screw anything up LOL 😂🤣 Hugs.....Janie
Wow, Janie, the tray is gorgeous! And you did an excellent job of thoroughly explaining each step! I have some molds similar to the butterflies and I think yours came out beautifully, so may have to give this a go. I also have a mold with a small alphabet, so could spell out a word or name. When you have time, can you tell me if the item (once cured) is flexible or rigid? And what do you think is best for gluing the item to something like a picture frame? Many thanks for sharing all your wonderful projects with us! Take good care of yourself! Janet 💕
Hi Janet 😊 Thank you for your sweet comment. To answer your question, the finished product is rigid. But if you unmold it too soon it will still be a little flexible. In fact there are projects that require it to still be flexible so you can bend/form it a little before it becomes rigid. This is the same stuff they use for table tops and counter tops. As for gluing resin items to something like a frame, I would use Beacon 3 in 1 glue. But I have also heard that you can use resin to adhere resin items together. I have more videos planned and I'm sure you love them and learn about more things to make that might surprise you (if I am successful....LOL) 😊💗🤗 Hugs....Janie
Hey! Really beautiful! I really want to start making something like this! Is it really non toxic and I can make this at my home? Because I have dogs and parrots but I don’t have separate place to make them and I’m afraid to try😢
Yes it is really non-toxic and I have videos linked on the screen as my video is ending that will take you to videos that discuss the certification of it's non-toxicity. I also have pets and also care about my health, so I was never able to create with resin until I was introduced to this. No VOC's No PBA's No fumes, certified non-toxic.....even safe to set food on once it has hardened. You can visit their TH-cam channel and website to learn more. I love this stuff. I love that I only have to wear gloves to keep it off my skin because it's sticky and diffiult to wash off.....but it does wash off with some work.....and I've never had a reaction to it. I do hope you watch the ArtResin video linked on mthe screen and learn more about it. Thanks for stopping by 😊
Thank you so much! As with anything I make, I either use it myself or give it as gifts. And on the rare occasion that I get go to a craft fair, then I try sell things. I just love to craft and don't always have a plan 😊 Hugs....Janie
It says it "may cause irritation to skin and eyes"....."may", not will. That is why they recommend wearing gloves and not touching your eyes. I have very sensitive skin and a low drug tolerance and I have been using ArtResin for over a year and have not had any reactions to it. If you watch my videos you will see that sometimes I'll take a glove off and forget to put it back on and get the resin on my hands, but I have never had any skin or eye irratation. It is sticky so I do wash my hands as soon as I'm done. ArtResin is certified non-toxic, no fumes, no VOC's, no BPA's, and it is also certified food safe, which means after it is cured it is safe to set food on the finished item. If you have other questions you should visit their website and read their Q&A or watch the video that I have linked on the screen as this video is ending, and there are also links in the video description box. I do not work for ArtResin and am not affiliated with them, so it would be best to get your answers from them. I can tell that not all non-toxic resins are created equal. I decided to try a different brand because it was a little cheaper, and the fumes were so horrible and I had to open windows and put on a facemask and leave the room as soon as I was done pouring. Also while stirring it the mixture got warm, which is something I had never experienced before. So I will never use it again and what I have is now wasted. You get what you pay for. I highly recommend ArtResin if you don't want fumes and care about safety. Thank you for stopping by 😊
That is protocol for any product. For example there are places that sell candy bars that were made in a facility that uses nuts on other items that they make. So, if you read the back of a let's say, a hershey bar, it usually says something like "may contain traces of nuts, soy, etc. "May" is not a guarantee and it's just for good measure. Everyone reacts to things differently and while their product is non-toxic, there is still a chance that there will be some people that are sensitive to the product for a various amount of reasons. From the research that I've conveyed before discovering artresin recently, resin generally is not very safe to work with so because this is still resin and being that resin is usually very hazardous to work with, the brand artresin will be unlikely to cause you any issues. Should any occur though, just stop using the product and dispose of it. I have not used resin myself at all. I bought some and never used it because of the research I conveyed on it. I decided that I won't use it so now, I am stuck with a small bottle of uv resin that I will never use because I am too paranoid. I've searched and searched and searched for an actual non toxic resin and I don't trust any of it for some reason. I was going to give up , but I stumbled across artresin. I feel like this one is true to it's word. We shall see. Again though if someone does have a reaction to it, that doesn't mean that you will. Like anything, you just have to take a chance on it and see if it works for you. Any smart company regardless of its claims , should have disclaimers. I myself will at least make sure my area is still well ventilated and I do plan to at least wear a disposable mask and gloves if nothing else just to be safe. They are preaching to still take precautionary measures, but for most unless you're allergic or sensitive to it, it's only necessary to wear gloves.
No. This is certified non-toxic, no VOC's, no fumes, no BPA's, and is even certified food safe meaning after it's cured you can sit food on it. On the end screen of my video are 2 other videos from the ArtResin channel that discuss this. Also, not all non-toxic epoxy resins are the same. I purchased another brand and it was so bad and I had to put on a mask, open windows in the middle of Winter, and leave the room. I will never use it again....waste of money. But I have been using ArtResin for over a year and love that the only protective gear you need is gloves, even though I have sometimes forgot to put my gloves back on. It's just sticky to get off your skin, but I have never had a reaction to it and I'm someone that has reactions to a lot of things including some soaps. But you could always wear a face mask if you wanted to. You should check out the ArtResin channel here on TH-cam. Thanks for watching and asking.....it's always good to ask when you have questions 😊 Hugs....Janie
